Hattie and Tenn Redman

They both had the same dam. Redman's sire was Fireball III whose sire was My Dog. Hattie was directly from My Dog. My Dog wasn't a real big hound and threw some tree dogs for sure, Hattie could get hooked quick. While III was about as balanced and accurate hound as you'll find, big houndy joker, just not a speed demon. Now Timber Choppin Dan, Megs brother, could get gone seen that myself but I don't know much about her. Either way alot of nice blood piled all in to one PED.

Yep

That's what I thought, I heard that dog was a stemwinder.. But it just seems to me that nearly every cross off the old dog produced something that was good. Folks forget a lot to that a lot of those dogs were hunted more in the other registries that were
"the big deal" in those days. I know one thing from years of hunting Jon's stock. they are for real..

"The old dog" sired 924 pups. That is more than 95 crosses. There were way too many dogs with almost the same name. I guess that Joe ran out of names. It gets terribly confusing for those of us who have not kept up very closely.

B3

That's what happens when you end up with a "big name" dog. Lol ppl breed everything they can to it! I like the way he named them. Simple to remember

Preston, there must have been an awful lot of people that thought Old Fireball was a good stud and there must have been a pretty big demand for his pups if he put that many on the ground. Now back to Jon.....I saw where there was a real nice hound out of Buddy who is apparantly Jon's full brother and Mark has a nice female who is his full sister so I guess that he came from a pretty good litter. And Larry, BIII was a big tall leggy hound. You would not have liked his looks.

Posted by Preston Owens on 01-16-2014 11:04 PM:

lol

Yep right on Richard. Buddy was a reproducer as well, I raised 3 off him over here that were really nice. Jon will reproduce on good females. I am glad he is getting shown to the public, I remember some yrs back a "pro" handler was bashing Brian for taking his time with Jon at an early age. Brian did us all a favor by the way he raised him. Good things will be coming from Jon.

Full Brother I owned to Jon Sire Banjo 3.

Luke was 1 yr older than B3, he was Stone Silent on track Double Chop locate, sat down with about 70-80 BPM on the tree. He'd be there when ya got there, not even daylight would make him leave you had to go get him.. Easy handling knock a truck out the way to go hunting & would not come back.

He went blind at 8-9 yrs old but I still hunted him 3-4 times a month & he'd tree coon every time. How's that for heart,Drive& Desire???

White

I have to tell you I have Reg. Reds for 55 yrs now & can tell u that I see most that have white make great coonhounds
& when in the dark you cant notice it when red is on the wood, where you don't want to see it is when you are benching where everyone can see it,
that white came from crossing YEARS AGO walker / red
& the black from b & t / red - if u ever seen a pic of
Sandy Creek Jake white from under chin wide in front of chest under front legs , & he was a top red so a little white means nothing, I would bet if a red like that won the world hunt, MOST WOULD BREED TO HIM

Luke got me excited about coon hunting. I used Luke to get Junior started and then sold him to Brian. Accurate and had a nice mouth. Good handling dog. I tried to breed him but no luck. Brian got him breed and his offspeing are pretty nice.

Far as I can tell he's still $700 ahead in the breed race & still #1 in the state by around $200 & money added each week so I dont think he's layed up in the livingroom at night.
