Back at the being of coon season Carl Meeks had his Rascal dog hit on the road. It broke one of his front legs up high near the shoulder. At one time they weren't sure Rascal was even going to live and at the very least keep his leg. Well, It seems Rascal has made a remarkable recovery considering all he has gone through. Last weekend Carl entered Rascal in his first UKC hunt since being hit. I believe it was also Rascal's first NiteCh cast he has been entered in. Rascal won his cast last Friday night. So, it sounds like Rascal is doing well. Rascal is out of Harpeth River Blue Jack x McGinnis' Blue Thunder. Rascal was 2nd overall and High scoring dog of the first round in the 2012 PKC Spring Baby Stakes. I look forward to seeing Carl and Rascal competing again in this year's Spring SS.

It was nice to see NiteCh Wild-N-Blue Sissy hit the current reproducers list again in the March issue of Coonhound Bloodlines. It looks to me as if one more pup out of Sissy is titled it will also put her on the Historical Reproducers list. I am glad I got the opportunity to own her and look forward to breeding her to Harpeth River Blue Jack. She should be coming in soon. We have bred a daughter of Sissy to Jack in the past and have had good success.

We are looking forward to seeing several pups out of Jack compete next month at the Spring SS.

A owner of a Jack pup sent me a picture of his pup. The pup in the picture is 4 1/2 months old. They are letting him run loose some and are working with him some. The note I got with the picture simply stated "coming along". Below is the picture.

I would like to give a BIG CONGRATULATIONS To Carl Meeks and his young blue dog Meeks' Blue Rascal. Carl and Rascal had back to back cast wins last night at the 2013 Spring SS. This has advanced them to the next round on Friday night. Once again, Congratulations to Carl and Rascal, good luck on Friday night and keep doing what your doing "WINNING".
Meek's Blue Rascal is out of Harpeth River Blue Jack x McGinnis' Blue Thunder and a brother to Blitz and Sonic.

Congrats to Nate&Blitz and John&Sonic on their early round cast wins last night at the 2013 Spring SS. They didn' t win their casts on the late round.

Good luck to Carl and Rascal tonight. I believe Rascal is the only Blue dog to advance at the Spring SS.

There is suppose to be another young male out of Jack hunting in the Spring SS "Freshman/Baby Stakes" on Saturday night. Best of luck to Ricky and his young dog on Saturday night.

Talked to Mike Dunn a couple days ago. Mike told me he thought Thunder and Sissy are coming in heat. I hope they are. I am really looking forward to the Jack x Sissy cross. The Jack x Thunder cross always seems to produce some dandy's.

Harpeth River Blue Jack pup updates.

Jack pups had a good showing at the 2013 Spring SS this week and weekend. Carl Meeks and his young hound Meek's Blue Rascal made it to the quarter finals in the Sophomore Division. John Bishop and Bishop's Blue Super Sonic along with Nate Reynolds and Reynold's Blue Blitz had early round cast wins the in the Sophomore Division, they were just a cast win away from advancing. Congratulations once again to these fine men and their fine hounds.

Jack also had 1 pup that entered in the Freshman Division/ Baby Stakes this year. I would like to give my CONGRATULATIONS to Ricky Decker and his fine young hound Decker's Jake. Jake was the high scoring dog of the early round and placed 4th overall in the 2013 Spring Freshman/Baby Stakes Division.


This makes 2 years in a row that 2 different Jack pup's have been in the Final 4 of the Spring Freshman/Baby Stakes Division. Ricky and Jake placing 4th overall and high scoring dog of the early round this year 2013 , with Carl and Rascal placing 2nd overall and high scoring dog of the early round last year 2012.

Best of luck in the future and continued success to these men and their hounds. Also a personal THANK YOU to these men from Mike Dunn and myself for giving these young hounds out of Jack a chance.

I hunted with Hardware with Riley one night and was highly impressed. Dog did it right 2 coon and din't take long. He is a nice dog. Riley has done well for himself also.
