Hickory

Thanks for the Pics

Scott Jordan is hunting Hickory down in Mo., He told me one night that Ralph (his son and Roxys sister) got two trees in front of Hickory. I love it, the pup showin the old man what to do.

Jet and Annie pup

Great news Jake. My male "Ace" is still down by Bill Tuckers. He really likes both of those males. He has all the yard work done with them and is going to start to work them on drags. I am really looking forward to getting him back up here.

I love it too! This has proven to be a nice cross. I'm sure some people were nervous to get a pup from this cross because the mother Diva only had a show title and the father Hickory was untitled. It just goes to show that you can't judge a litter's potential just by the titles of the parents.

Danielle,
I don't think anyone thought that they were going to be able to hunt those pups up here in the north much this year much less that alot of those pups were treeing their own coon already.
I think you have something special there in Roxy. I am glad no one wanted her and you got to keep her. She sure looks like she could keep you in coondogs for years to come.

Jordans Midnight Ralph, my pup out of Hickory he is treeing coon consistent been hunting him by his self and if he doesn,t hit a track you better hope there is a road on the other side or have a good pair of walking shoes, I have been looking for a pup like this for several years and now I am going to cut down on young dogs and try to keep Ralph in the woods. I will be taking Hickory to Marble Hill hunt this weekend, I would like to see some more females breed to Hickory, all I have heard is good out of the first litter, would like to hear about his litter mates and how they progress, will keep posted.

Cami is bred for sure. For the people that called and PM'd me on a pup let me know if you are still interested by sending me a PM with your name, address and a good phone number. Also send if you prefer a male or female. When the pups are a couple weeks old I will ask for a $50 deposit that will be non-refundable if you back out. The total cost on a pup will be $200 male or female so you will owe me $150 when the pup is picked up at 8 weeks old either at Bluetick days or up in Wisconsin. The picks will be in the order I receive your information.

I can't tell you how much it means to me that Ralph is pleasing you. I had a good feeling about the two of you. I lost my mom unexpectedly on Sunday and it's been devastating to me. This is something I would have shared with her. She was proud of our hounds and always wanted to hear the progress of the puppies we raised. She is smiling in heaven right now.

Scott, my female off of Jet/Annie is doing great. I haven't had the chance to start her yet but she has had alot of yard work done. She is very intelligent, a really good lookin female with a nice houndy mouth. It's pretty course, but she seems to have plenty of volume. She doesn't much look like a female...she has a really big blocky head, is really muscled up and has great color. She'll grand on the bench easily.

Scott glad to here Ralph is progressing well. At this time last year he was not even conceived yet. It seems like we have been talking about this Hickory and Diva litter for over a year.

Good Luck with Hickory in Marble Hill.

Dan good to hear that your pup is pleasing you. The three females out of the Jet and Annie cross look like they are in good hands. Keep us posted.

Heather

Put another first on Heather last night. 2 feet of snow made for tough walking and pretty bad for her feet. It did not slow her down though. The coon were moving and that made it worth while. Heather is out of Uchtman's Zeb and a Uchtman's Clyde female. She may have a date with Banjo in the future. She had one litter out of Logan. Rick has a male down in Alabama that is doing well out of that cross. Just 20 points to go for NiteCh for her.

Finished Heather last night with another first. It was far from pretty with 2 feet of snow and rained all night with temps from 34-37 degrees all night. But luckily at the end of the night she won the cast. She had 3 First place wins with scores of 650, 475 and 75.

Tough hunting here by the conditions the last couple of nights. Friday night the coons were moving good it was about 27 degrees and alot of snow. Saturday it was in the mid 30's and rain still alot of snow and the coon did not move well until about the last hour. They did tree a couple right though.
