Stonehill, sorry you can't make it to Troy. Tiny has to work too and may not get off in time either, so it may be a solo run for me.....and then a guinea pig show the next day and in the other direction. LOL

Oh wow.......I had a greyound x whose momma came off the track and he looked all grey. Had many people ask if he was all grey and he was a house dog and even "graduated" from an akc strict instructor obedience class and he loved it. He would do the downs, stays, recalls, the whole works and would work for my grandaughter when she was only 5. And he would water race too!!! Loved that dog dearly.

We ran our 18 month old female at Troy She did pretty well for her first. The start The last red dog in the water

Midway The last red dog

The finish Red dog on the bottom of the pic. She finished second with her nose at the end of the Walker.

Any tips on how to get her to jump in? I think if she wouold jump she would be fast,she's a pretty strong swimmer

Move your swim box closer too the water,everyone I've seen the dogs have too jump in cause they have no choice. Maybe just a small amount of ground but not much.

I don't water race but make mine jump off the boat dock. It gets them use to going under water and takes away the fear of getting it in there face,ears and everything else. Once they will jump off it they will jump off about anything. Water hose in the face and letting them fetch things out of shallow water(like a rock) allso helps. Just have to force the jump till they get use to it.

Sink a coon hide just deep enough they have to stick there hole head under to get it. That would probubly be the easiest way for a coon hound. Then fix it were it will float and throw it off the dock or tail gate backed over water.

water race

we'll be having one at our rqe june 23rd at burlington, nc. the more the merryer. the pond is about 75 yards long with the dogs coming out off of a 8x8 dock on the edge of the water

Here are pics of the swim pond at Winterset Iowa. It was my first time going to that club and they had a really nice open water race and drag yesterday. We had fun!

Hope to see a good turnout there next month, June 23, for their Iowa State Youth Championship. Shame they're not doing a FT, but they will have a youth UKC Water Race....and Bench Show and Nite Hunt.
I'm looking forward to more UKC Water Races and hopefully Field Trials there in the future!!!

Second surgery got all the cancer.

No, I doubt I will get up that far...Just lost my dad about a month ago and my momma's health isn't real good, so I can't get away as far as I used to...I hope they have a great turn out!

Good water races yesterday at Troy! Boy there were some close ones!!!
About 20 minutes away from home I realized I'd forgotten my camera. Told Tiny that was probably a good omen. It was! Rose managed to just barely squeak out 1st Tree in her heat. It was close in the final too, but she got that 1st Line & Tree we've been chasing for a few years. I think that puts her at 80 pts now. Almost there!

Great to see you yesterday, Dennis! I wish we could have showed Judge and Casey to you. Hopefully another time. Now we owe a trip down to your neck of the woods. Was today your lucky day?

There were a few WRs and FTs this weekend around the country. How did everyone else do?

Congrats on the WCH. Took my WCH Jack and GRWCH Minnie there the last 2 yrs for NPHA Days.....Jack did ok but got beat by Charlie Filtz' Mick dog,he is one good swim dog. Minnie didnt like something about the dock and dq'd herself every time,too bad cause she is fast in the water. Jack is now GRWCH too,going to swim them against each other at the NY Plott sectional and see who is faster
