Dave,
Bubba got attacked by a Momma Coyote Wed. night. She had a den along the creek bank with pups, Queenie & Bubba came down the creek and she attacked/bit Bubba on the back leg. It swelled up huge in the joint, I took him too the vet Thurs. morning and he has him on antbiotics. The swelling is not going down much so I'm supposed too take him back to the vet tomorrow. He never barked at it or anything. He was just hunting down the creek and she nailed him.. I sure hope the vet can get the infection down and get him right. The vet said if we don't keep a close eye on it and keep it under control we'd have too amputate his leg.. The vet was really worried about it.. I'll keep you posted.. ( Poor little Hubba Bubba ) :-(

Both Grit and Spike has had run ins with those things. They were both around a year old when it happened to them though. Hope it all works out for you and he makes a full recovery soon.

No, I'm not much of a comp. hunter at all, I've never got much into comp. hunting. I like doing the UKC hunt test. We have very few cat dogs/hunters in this area.... And like 5-6 coonhunter hunting the same spotts almost every night. And we do have a lot of Bobcats. And starting too get a few Mnt. Lions.. I know of 2 people withing 12 miles of me that has seen Mnt lions with kittens this year... I'm on a lookout for a 1/2 sister or something that would work for breeding back to Bubba, that would go back Grit bred.. Find me something and I'll get my doggy transport routed that way.. Bubba is starting to walk on his leg, I think he'll be alright..

Spike got ran off a tree last night by the yotes. Has holes on his back legs on either side of his sack!! Which leg did Bubba get?

Now that's odd !!! Bubba's leg is back left.. and it's still swelled up bad.. I can't tell if he's rabbid, he always has slobber coming out of his mouth.. LOL.. Hope it doesn't hit Spike as hard as it has Bubba, I just can't beleive Bubbas leg is still swelled this much..

Spike is big enough to get away. Just a couple puncture marks. Keep an eye on him. Should be fine.

Pup turned 5 months old on the 22nd. Split treed from Spike about 20 yards last night and held pressure. Did NOT have the coon, but they all got to start somewhere. lol.

I'll finish Bubba as far as I can in the HTX hunts and finish him Grnd. show. I'll be putting my new female in the HTX as well when she's ready.. Sure was hoping something would shake loose on Grit and someone would have spotted him..
