I've never been around these men, but there writtings by far have impacted me and my dogs more than any I was/am acquainted with today.
None to my knowledge ran hounds there dogs of choice were "WARDOGS"/Gladiators.

That is a very good list of dogmen, Mayfield being my favorite.

I just seen this tread and read every page and I am surprized that
someone has not mentioned this man Charlie Lowery. AKA THE INDIAN.

Probably the best or one of the best. JMO

Indian Charlie

Does anybody know what happened to Indian Charlie? I hunted with him once when I went to hunt with Herb Carsten, you're right, he was a good dog man.

Tom

Is Charlie the Indian who handle dog for Dave Dean ?????

Posted by Moniteaublues on 05-05-2012 05:44 PM:

barrelmaker, he lives right outside Bunceton, Mo. I hunt with him on
occasions.

englishbuddy, don't know if he ever hunted dogs for Dave Dean but
he hunted dogs for Richard Casey. Indian is a real good guy.

Mc Blackmon has my vote. I've seen him take a trashy pup and in 10 days the pup looks like an old pro

One of the best houndsman I've had the pleasure of hunting with was an older gentleman by the name of Brian Miller from Dixon, MO. He taught me a lot when I was starting out. Probably way more than he even realizes. Thank you Mr. Miller.

Thanks to Mae for all the cookies too
