Dillon, surprised nobody has mentioned River Bend John Wayne. Believe he won the U.S. open championship. I hunted with him several times and he was a real nice dog. I'll see if I can't get a picture of him and some more info.

Alright. I've heard of him but I haven't seen him an many pedigrees. I know he was off Flag but I'm not sure how his mom was bred. Post more info on him if you have any.

Here's a picture of a couple of flag dogs. This is John Wayne and his full younger brother Matt Dillon. I hunted with both these dogs and both were nice dogs. When I asked my buddy what their dam was all he said was " the Minnie bitch off Hurt's Bawling Banjo". The U.S. Championship that John Wayne won was in 83 and I think it was an ACHA hunt.

Good Lord, you've asked me a question that I can"t come close to answering. All I can tell you is that I raised a male pup off of John Wayne and best I can remember maybe Herm Wogatski's Spikette bitch that made a nice dog.
Matt Dillon had yellow eyes that I wasn"t crazy about but it didn't hurt his coon treeing ability.
Wish I could tell you more but that was nearly 30 yrs. ago. I think maybe my brain is full cause I gotta forget something to learn something new. You'll understand one of these days. lol

Hicktown Haley

She is a grandaughter of Brown's Little Peg who was flag bred. She treed her first night in the wood and split treed on her third night. She is a very nice tree dog and very acurate.

She likes to sit when another dog is on the tree.

Yea. Im dont know anything about those hounds. I saw one had River Bend Mack in its pedigree I believe.
