So Sad
It is really discouraging to read how people defend Bush after 7 plus years of his regime and the long term damage he has brought on the U.S.A.
There is a sorry bunch of Democrats in the House and Senate for sure, but no clear thinking person can honestly think GW has been good for America.
To constantly defend GW in the face of irrefutable evidence of his incompetence and lies is a sign of mental illness.

I WONDER WHAT OUR TROOPS KNOW THAT WE DON'T..........................
According to an analysis of campaign contributions by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, Democrat Barack Obama has received nearly six times as much money from troops deployed overseas at the time of their contributions than has Republican John McCain, and the fiercely anti-war Ron Paul, though he suspended his campaign for the Republican nomination months ago, has received more than four times McCain's haul.
Despite McCain's status as a decorated veteran and a historically Republican bent among the military, members of the armed services overall -- whether stationed overseas or at home -- are also favoring Obama with their campaign contributions in 2008, by a $55,000 margin. Although 59 percent of federal contributions by military personnel has gone to Republicans this cycle, of money from the military to the presumed presidential nominees, 57 percent has gone to Obama.
did ya get that???????? obama has recieved $60,642 from troops deployed abroad, ron paul $45,512 and jon mccain $10665.
yes you got that right deployed troops gave $106,000 dollars to candidates opposed to this war, and only $10,665 to mccain!
AND IT ISN'T JUST DOLLAR TOTALS-----233[donors] CONTRIBUTED TO THE TWO CANDIDATES OPPOSED TO THIS SENSELESS WAR WHILE 26 [donors]CONTRIBUTED TO MCCAIN!!!!
If you cant stand by our troops.............................

Imcompetence- Katrina, should I go on?
WMD's-'nuff said.
There are plenty of examples but I'm not going to argue with you, there is no point you will just blame some Democrat.
I didn't say we had a good choice but that is part of your and other GW worshippers MO. Distort and when that doesn't work try to divert blame. I never said one thing about the other side of the rotten political coin being better.
Progress will never be made and our country will continue to fall behind until blind adherence to political parties is ended.
Bush, Cheney should be hanged for treason and there bodies shouldn't be cold before Pelosi, Clinton, Schumer and Harry Reid join them on the Constitution Oak. I think where the Constitution was penned would be a good place to start cleaning up this mess. I mentioned more D's than R's but don't worry I can think of many R's to add to the list.
If I would have had more R's on the list some of you would have had to left your coloring project to attack me.

luv is on the mark.... both parties have pandered to the lowest possible common denominator, done the bidding of vested interests instead of serving the needs of the nation... constitution never mentions political parties- maybe a message in that... hope that in this most crucial time our political leadership is able to work together, bridge ideology-partisanship and bring the nation together-move forward... the needs of the nation should-must be the dominant issue and not politics as usual....
economy, energy, health care, tax reform, gov't- spending, deficit-debt, terrorism, social security, education, infrastructure, jobs, our role in world community-social-military, etc. are issues that supercede party affiliation, hope next president-congress etc. able to look beyond politics and serve the nation, not continue to be blinded by partisanship and vested interest groups at the expense of the people...

An alarming number of women soldiers are being sexually abused by their comrades-in-arms, both at war and at home. This fact has received a fair amount of attention lately from researchers and the press — and deservedly so.

IS OBAMA WHO HE REALLY SAYS HE IS??
Who the HECK is Barry Soetoro?
THE PLOT THICKENS ON WHETHER BARACK OBAMA IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS!
from Steve Gill - http://www.gillreport.com August 13, 2008
Is he Barack Obama or Barry Soetoro? Is he an American or an Indonesian? The more this guy dodges the truth, the more likely it is that it will emerge. Just ask John Edwards. One of the many fascinating things about this story is the fact that the HILLARY CLINTON team is the one pushing it along under the surface.
Courtesy of texasdarlin.wordpress.com -
Barack Obama is running for President as… well, Barack Hussein Obama. That’s his legal name, right?
Or is it.
There is now evidence indicating that his actual valid Birth Certificate on file in Hawaii says Barry Soetoro. That was the Indonesian identity that Obama acquired when Lolo Soetoro adopted him. His original Birth Certificate, presumably in the name Barack Hussein Obama, was sealed. That’s our theory.
It seems that Obama put a fake Birth Certificate on his official campaign website because he wanted to hide his Indonesian identity from us, including his Muslim background and that pesky Constitutional dual-citizenship matter. That is our assertion.
And we believe that Barry Soetoro started using the name “Obama” sometime in the 70’s, it would seem.
BUT, interestingly, our researchers have been unable to locate the public record showing that Barry Soetoro legally changed his name back to Barack Obama. Sure, he could have used his original birth certificate (the one that was sealed) in the name “Obama” as an identity document over the years, and no one would have known…(didnt he say that he found that in a shoe box in high school?)
But what is Obama’s official, legal name? Is it the name he used to sign his candidacy papers for the President? Is it the one which will be on the ballot for the Democratic party nomination in Denver this month? Is it the one that will be on the ballot for President in all the states this November? Is it the one he used to enroll in private schools?
Or is it the name he used to travel to Pakistan?
Is his legal name Barack Obama, or Barry Soetoro?
8 months ago: This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro into the Catholic school made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. The document lists Barry Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen, born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, and shows his Muslim step-father listed the boy's religion as Islam.(AP Photo/ Tatan Syuflana)

BREAKING* Barry Soetoro’s Birth Certificate in Republican Hands
Two sources, including Larry Johnson of No Quarter (who just returned from a business trip in Hawaii), have independently told me that Republicans have in their possession Barack Obama’s Hawaiian Birth Certificate.
The sources confirm that the theory I presented here — see Obama Hides Indonesian Identity, Fake Birth Certificate Explained — nearly 10 days ago, IS TRUE:
The name on the Birth Certificate is Barry Soetoro.
Larry Johnson reports:
Did I also mention how small Hawaii is? Republican operatives, with help from their own island backers, have unearthed critical information on Obama and are just biding their time until after the convention to drop it on him. Such as? Having a birth certificate that lists you as Barry Soetoro.
Thanks to Judah Benjamin for doing the ground-breaking research for this blog on Barack Obama’s Indonesian connection.
His work was the foundation for the theory, and provided affirmation of Polarik’s original findings that the COLB was forged.
What does this mean?
It means that Barack Obama has been hiding his Indonesian identity and citizenship, as we’ve been trying to shout from the rooftop for weeks. He may still have Indonesian citizenship; or maybe he dumped it along the way to help polish the path forward for political ambitions.
Never mind; Obama concealed it from us. He lied. He tried to wipe out his past, for fear that it would render him ineligible. He thought he was beyond being vetted, questioned, researched. He thought he was the Messiah.
Larry has more, and I have a feeling this passage alludes to the possibility that Obama used his Indonesian identity (perhaps a passport?) to travel to Pakistan:
I confirmed today that several teams/individuals visited Jakarta during the last six months to gather up critical documents regarding Barack. It is amazing what money can buy. The information includes details of how Barack made his way to Pakistan. Oh! Did I mention there have been similar efforts underway in Pakistan. There are several lessons and warnings in the John Edwards affair for Obama. First and foremost, you cannot hide your past.
No, you cannot hide from your past. Nor can you hide from citizen journalists.
$.10 mind
You are delusional and trying to reason with you is a waste of time. There is always some crackpot out there with "proof" of whatever viewpoint a person subscribes to.
Rapes are way up in the military and the military has admitted as much and are working to find a remedy. My family has a long and proud history of serving this country on many continents so you don't want to go there boy.
I will not bother to try and teach you the difference between love of country and love of party.
I hope you get the help you need Ben.

Support?
No where will you find anything I've wrote proclaiming support for Obama. Do you work for the RNC?
I love my country and am very concerned about the future of it.
I know you will use this as an excuse to exspouse the virtues of John McCain who a few years ago I was a fan of myself. If you were an open-minded person I would tell you to google McCain and the Keating Five /80's, McCain and Enron/90's and now his greedy fingerprints can be found on the current mortgage crisis.
Like I said before I don't relish the thought of an Obama presidency but McCain isn't the answer either. If people like yourself would quit towing the party line maybe WE the PEOPLE could get together and nominate and elect a third party candidate that would put America first again.

Har har hardy harhar
Your'e spot on about the media picking the candidates. That acid/ libertarian comment was hilarious and unfortunately true. God help us!
It's hard for me to believe that with 300 million people in this country we can't find better leaders then the choices presented to us.

there is no perfect party or perfect candidate, the choice becomes one of which one/s can best meet the needs of the nation overall which means that must accept somethings that we may not want to get others we feel most important... need leadership to unify poltical partisanship, not divide as we now have...
don't believe the document posted is a birth certificate, why would someone be born to a natural parent and later have a birth certificate with a name of a step parent, if a parent remarries-gets married the children are not issued a new birth certificate to reflect that even if an adoption occurs, if the natural parent was the kenyan obama why would the birth certificate have the name of a 2nd marriage Indonesian parent... by the way at birth a child does not say what to put on a birth certificate, usually parents do that, biological ones and not 2nd marriage step parents...
believe issues should influence who we vote for, not things candidates would have no control over, especially if they lack validity, common sense hopefully would come into play....

That paper was probably printed by the same folks who had that document proving Saddam was trying to buy yellow cake in Nigers.

ben
did read a story and that is what it was... makes no sense about the birth certificate, the document posted appears to be a school registration form of some kind... yellow cake does have the potential to become something, but is not really anything in that form as far as wmd, where was it shipped???
believe even the current administration has accepted that no wmd existed, would they have made them if possible, sure in time a real strong probability, also seems like the adm. has also bought into global warming and withdrawal -exit plans in iraq, but use time horizons instead of timelines...
hope we come to a good conclusion in iraq.... the rise of the russian bear could pose a real problem, guess when gw looked into putin's eyes and saw his soul, he should have looked a little deeper-lo... hope both sides just posturing, but the invasion of georgia looks like the real thing...
quote:Lmbo ain't that the truth...
guess when gw looked into putin's eyes and saw his soul, he should have looked a little deeper
