Allie is in heat - Heckler's been crying about her, trying to get into her pen. We're planning on taking him hunting on the land right across the road in front of our house... here's to hoping he goes hunting for coon and not back to the house to his girlfriend!

Took Heckler out last night - he didn't go back home to Allie, so that worked well! We did, however, have to do a little "trashbreaking" ...

A Black Rat Snake... we just found a hatchling the day before. They are harmless, but boy can they stink if you mess with them! Heckler wanted to check it out - after we told him no a couple of times, Andrew nicked him with the shock collar and he left it alone.

I hunted Mace last night also. He got struck and ran for a few minutes. I watched him on the GPS the whole time he seemed to have gotten hung up in one spot and then he tree barked a couple of times followed by what sounded like a locate bawl then nothing. He tried to come to me then went back to the same spot. I walked to where he was and when I got there he was standing up on a fine looking tree. When he saw me he started lettin her eat. I petted him up real good and worked with him on the tree a few minutes. I shined the tree but the leaves were so thick I could not find the coon. He has shown some big improvements this week. I have had him out twice and he has struck his own track both times and treed last night. I think he may have done the same thing Tues night but I didnt go to him because I wasnt really sure what he was doing. He finally came back in to me. From now on I will check him out no matter what I think hes doing.

Spot grandpups...

We may be having us some Heckler pups, Nathan... I went to feed the other day after work and Heckler was in Allie's pen and they were locked up... little rascal. If she takes, should be some good pups anyway. Allie is a full littermate to Heckler's mama. Pups would have three shots of Roy in 4 generations... We were planning on making the cross eventually, just not yet! Apparently Heckler had other ideas...

going to have 2 nice litters of pups soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st litter is from a nice female off of stone cold nick and a woodstock female, chris ritchie owner.

2nd litter is from a nice older female off of bee ridge hot shot, she is a litter mate to red hot six shot. she has produced several nice hounds. bob offill owner.
