I AM VERY HAPPY THAT A GUY LIKE YOU(young and fired up about it all) ENDED UP WITH A DOG LIKE SHELLY. I APPRECIATE ALL THE KIND WORDS ON THE DOGS. OPPY IS OUT OF A LINE OF DOGS CULMINATED BY A REAL GOOD GROUP OF HUNTERS THAT MADE BREEDING AND PROMOTING THE BLUETICK HOUND A PRIORITY TO THE POINT THAT IT WAS AND IS A BIG PART OF MOST OF ALL OF THEIR LIVES, AND AS FAR BACK AS THE PEDIGREE GOES. I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT I WAS THERE, PUT A PILE A MILES ON BEHIND,AND HAD MOST OF THEM AT MY PLACE AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER TO HUNT AND REALLY KNOW THEM. IT IS PRETTY COOL 30 YRS LATER TO STILL HAVE ONE I LIKE AS MUCH AS I LIKED THEM. <v>

i realy look up 2 men like u,with all good in this sport and hounds,it also has its downs and for sticking with it that long is amazing.im 26 and dont have that amount of time under my belt but tryn to get there.it just amazes me how u can watch certain men making the same mistakes now as they were 2o yrs ago,alot of men just breedn to anything just to have puppies and to me that ruins a breed.like i said im only 26 and believe u should only breed quality hounds to quality hounds,and believe wat u put in to it, is wat u get out of it.sorry for rambling but any ways congrats on improving the breed.

I LIKE NOTHING MORE THAN TO HERE FROM GUYS LIKE YOU.
IN THIS DAY AND AGE OF TECHNOLOGY AND JUST PLAN LAZY, IT TAKES A CERTAIN KIND OF YOUNG PERSON TO EVEN BE INTERESTED IN WHAT WE DO, LITTLE LONE GET INTO IT, GET THEIR OWN HOUNDS, PUT FORTH THE EFFORT TO LEARN ALL THEY CAN, FIGURE OUT WHAT THEY LIKE IN A DOG AND THEN DEVISE A PLAN. THEN ADD TO THAT,THE PHYSICAL DEMAND THAT COMES WITH GETTING YOUR HOUNDS HUNTED, AND THE FACT THAT THAT IT IS DONE AT NIGHT. TO MAKE A TOP HOUND, YOU CAN'T BE SCARED OF THE DARK CAUSE YOU HAVE TO SPEND ALONE TIME OUT THERE WITH THAT TOP YOUNG PROSPECT. THROW IN COLD, HOT, BUGS, SNAKES, POISON IVY, LACK OF SLEEP AT SCHOOL OR WORK AND THE MATH AIN'T MUCH TO DO. thanku,ive followed ur thread and several others for a few yrs.wish i lived closer to you guys.ive hunted all my life,but started coonhunting around 5 yrs ago.it just gets to me when men breed and breed several times a yr to dogs that have never got out of the pen.and then tell ppl they should be nice hounds.Alot of the ones i no do this are in there 40's,50's,60's and have coonhuntd for 30 40 yrs or so they say they have,and are making the same mistakes they did in beginning.ive learnd alot in my first 5 yrs and plan on continuing to.i hope to meet u some day and believe many could learn from men like u.hope oppy is doing well.thanks again

Perry and Coty very well said!! You have so many people just breeding dogs I guess just for the pups. You always hear well the blood is there! What happened to breeding coondog to coondog? And the jealousy between people in the same breed of dogs is crazy. We need to all work towards a better blue.

Put another Nite Champion win on Grizzly last night. It wasn't a pretty win as the night started out good and old mother nature took over and it turned into a matter of survival and least amount of minus points. We had 20-30mph winds along with snow,sleet and hail, I made one bad call but had enough in the end to win. Please help and send better weather northwards. Lol

Thanks Jake. Congradulations to you and your dad on the wins this weekend also. I guess for Gert it could not have gone much better. She should be headed up the reproducers list. Go's to show what breeding quality hounds can accomplish. There are several that breed to carry on and improve what's there, while others breed just to put more pups on the ground. Thank you to Perry and yourself for making that cross.

Took the old girl out last night with a bunch of her youngins and she sure showed them what a coondog is she treed 3 to there 1 treed 5 all together 4 first and first might have to try to grand her at 91/2 years old!
