Gin 11

Took Gin out for a run last night. Turned her up an ole slough bed that the river hasn't got into yet, but looks like it might at anytime. She went in a little over 100 yrds and just came treed. I walked in to her and she was treed up a hugh oak. I have treed up this tree many times in the past. It is a den tree and I got to thinking last night that I don't think I have ever seen a coon up this tree. Wit all the leaves on you cant see the hole, but its a big hole up there about half way up. I leashed her up and walked away from the tree a ways and cast her again. She went in about 500 yrds. and struck again and started working it. She only went about 100 yrds deeper and locked up treed again. I went on up the slough aways on the 4-wheeler and stopped at the edge of another slough. This slough is about 100 yrds wide with about kneedeep with water and mud. She was treed about 50 yrds out in it. Se was treed in a big Cyprus with a hole about 3 feet up. She was chewing at the hole. I walked over and looked in, but you could not see all the way into it. I took some good pictures there, but Photobucket wont let me get on it. They said my Password had changed, so I am having to work on that. We walked back to the 4-wheeler and called it a night. The wind was sure blowing hard last night.

Jack

I have been seeing a few here in Pa also. Last July I saw a 5 ft black rattler with silver diamonds down its back, and a heart shaped head the size of a golf ball. In the spring I saw a female @ 42" long . She had two yellowish stripes down her sides. She blended in real nice with the ferns and the new bloom of leaves. My neighbors have seen them also. a little more than usual. Deer hunters see them around here quite often.

Good talking to you this afternoon like always. Ol' Tramp did a good job last night. We had some bad reception on the phone but take care and I will talk to you later.

Gin 11

This picture of Gin treed out in the slough in the hollow tree goes along with my last post of her where she treed out in the slough in the hollow Cyprus.

Dan sounds like you have a little different Rattle Snake up there than we do down here, at least a different color anyway. Be careful.

Scott, I'm glad you and OL Tramp had a good time at the Dave Dean hunt. I will talk to you later.

Joe I will surely agree with that.

Mr. Ed I don't know why that Snake didn't bite that pup with her running over it and barking at it, but it never raised its head up to strike.

Mr. Tommy, I'm afraid of them all. They don't worry me much if I can see him. It's the ones that I cant see that really bothers me.

Yes Sir, Mr. Ed, She is already getting big and if nothing happens she will have pups around may 2.

Mr. Tommy

everything is fine here with me. I just have not had anything to hunt lately. Smoke is being hunted by a young guy that lives over close to Jeremy's and I've got one female with puppies and one fixing to have puppies and one in season, so I have been taking it easy. Tell Mr. Donald that I am sure glad he is home and I hope he is able to get back in the woods soon. Take care Mr. tommy.

Donald rode to the woods with me last night. I got to say, his wife wasn't too happy about it, but he sure enjoyed it.

Mr. Jack,

Glad to hear you are doing well. I finally got a female bred to Tramp II here. It should be a nice cross. Whenever Creek decides to come in that will get done for sure. It was nice to see Tramp knows his business in the stud pen and does not take all day to get it done either. I have had lots of folks interested in breeding to him so he will surely get some more nice pups on the ground. He is truly one of the most enjoyable dogs I have ever had here from the way he hunts and trees coon to his attitude and the way he is in the kennel. I really appreciate having him here.

Thank You and take care,
Scott

After being penned up for about 3 months, having a litter of pups. I'll have to admit it sure looked like she had been out of the game for a while. She struck in at a little over 200 yrds. It was a real cold track. She worked it on in to about 500 yrds and treed. She was treed on a huge oak at the edge of a deep slough that I couldn't cross. I could only see part of the tree from the side I was on and the moon was a lot brighter than my light. I wasn't feeling real great tonight so we called it a night and came on in

QUITE

Mighty Quite over your way Mr. Jack. You must be hard at it working on the next Misty River Coon Treeing Machine! When you get it finished and polished off give me a shout and we will hit the Swamps and get them Muddy again! Enjoyed talking with you the other day and appreciate you taking the time to show Mason, Blue Lone Survivor. He was really pumped up and if I hadn't watched him close he would have stuck that 2 week old pup under his shirt to bring him home, lol! He was sure asking how much longer we had to wait! Our Sinker Cypress Coon Calls will be a couple weeks or so getting done. Josh is having them coated with a clear resin to stabilize the wood and make it much more durable. Said they going to look like we just picked them up out of a clear creek in the Swamp. Can't wait to blow the leaves off the first tree I try mine on, lol! We got 4" of rain last night and the swamp is overflowing and the river a rolling. When it drains out give me a call and we will herd one up the tree, Take Care.

Sure good to get Gin back in the woods. I had been out of commission there for a little bit and then she came in season and Sheba 11 and ole Sheba were both having a litter of pups. Gin did a good job tonight and I looked at the coon. I would have liked to have knocked it out to her, for she hasn't had one in a while, but I was afraid it might be a sow coon with little ones some where, so we let it go to raise its little ones and to run another night.

Scott, glad you and Tramp are still having fun and yu are getting to breed him some. The cross between him and Creek should be something special, just keep pushing him and he will continue to get better. Take care Scott and I wish you the best.

Steve, I'm just sitting around over here being lazy. I've got to get these dogs back in the woods and get them and me back in shape. I will be calling you soon.
