well i took ariel for her first trip the other night for her first time she impressed me she struke the first track and heart had to show her how to tree and ariel treed for a couple of mins and the last couple of days shes been treeing squrrials in the yard shes going to be a hard little tree dog for sure im thinking about taking smoke tonight and leaving ariel home. and let me know when you ss smoke as soon as smokes and ariels papers get here im going to go and regristered them pkc as much as i dont like pkc i want to go and kick butt with one of these pups or both lol

Not this weekend. Dads working and I'm wrapping up hay season a little late after all that rain we had. Been hunting hic and smoke alone. Getting him ready for zones and try to make her nth ch this fall.

Smoke and Hic

Hic is doing really good. Got too much nose. for her own good sometimes but she is starting to come around and lookin to get treed rather then runnin. Timmy should be able to put her in the hunts this fall and push to make NiteCh. With her.
Not much to say about Smoke. Turn him loose go to the tree see coon put him in the box and do it all over again. Sometimes it is refreshing to hunt a vetern dog.
The reports we are getting on Smoke pups is exciting too.
Norms and Marks pups are doin awsome
Joie pup is a big triple chop model
Brians is in heat but he said as soon as she comes out he will be putting her in the hunts
Vernon Browns pup has been treein like an old dog since she was 4 montjs old
Mark in Mich. Has a female from smokes first litter that he said is rock solid and he uses her to train pups with. she is 21 months old
Scot in Mo. said his is a bug eyed tree dog goin all on his own
Jacob from Ok. Has an 8 month old running and treein all by himself.

This kill season will make or brake alot of these young dogs. Hope to see them in the hunts next spring.

smoke pups are getting to the age where they will make their mark in the hunts and as coon dogs, that is what is special, is when a sure enough coon dog wins, glad to here hic is doing good......Gerald

Been hunting quite a bit. hunting smoke getting ready for the zones and hic by herself mostly. she's treeing coon consistently by herself.im liking her a lot but needs finished.

here's two videos of jacob hansen s smoke x drizz pup. treed on a den tree and then on cage coon. He was four months old in first video and five in the second. this is the second litter out of drizz and smoke. first litter has five dogs and the four i know of r all treein their own coon. dustin bloxham called to let me know his pup from smoke and Wendy is running and treein. thinks she's gonna be nice. she's just turned a year old.

Smoke

Well we had run of bad luck at the zones. Thats compition sometimes.
Working on some young Smoke pups getting a couple ready for compition. The others we are just starting and they will be just the right age for kill season.
Really liking our Smoke and Wendy pups.
Plus the Candy pups are ready to start taking to the woods too.
Ole Smoke is in semi retirement, think he will go to some select major hunts and use him for some serious pup traing this fall.
Got a call this morning about the Smoke X Drizz pup that Geo. McClane owns. The pup has been started solely by his self and is running and treeing his own coon. They said he is a beast on coon.LOL
Talked to Mark In Ohio and he said that Norm and himself worked their Smoke X Candy pups on a live coon and they are doing awsome. Just turned 5 months old and really getting on the wood.
This fall and winter we should be able to see some pups ready to hit the hunts come spring.

You are right Smoke pups are just now getting old enough to show he can throw coon dogs.
We didnt purchace Smoke till he was 6 and we waited to breed him till we knew ourselves that he was a coondog. Needless to say now he getting ready to turn 9 this Dec. and hunting four different pups all out of different females and they are all showing what we are looking for. We arent just looking for another Smoke but a Smoke pup that is better then the old man.
We hunt and breed for the future of better then what we have now. Dont get me wrong we like Smoke but we allways want better. Something that will go to the next level in compition. Never satisfied with status qoe. And not just a better bluetick but a major winner.
We are crossing on the Mad Dog line of females and Pounder, Jet and Smokey River. So far we like the crosses on each.
This kill season will produce our next spring line up of dogs to put in the hunts.

well roy i aint push my pups too hard i got smoke at my cousins house to be hunted and ariel is at my house. i really aint messed with her alot but ive showed her 1 coon and she went crazy over it and shes been treeing tree rats allot in the woods smoke is running track real good and hes the most coon crazy pup that ive seen in awhile i really think these pups are going to make coondogs so keep up the good work

Glad you like her. She is a bold little tike and should make a good one.
Keep me up to date on her.
I know this sounds crazy but one of her brothers was shown a cage coon and he went ape crazy on it. While they were messing around with it the coon got loose and they had to catch Remmington (Double Downs little bro.) to keep him from tangeling up with the coon. They let Remmington loose after about 15 min. and he tracked the coon and bayed it in a hole down on the creek. Dusty had to pull the pup out of the hole to keep the coon from eating him up. Not bad for 10 weeks old. These pups are exceptional.
Dusty Manning is the guy that owns Remmington.
Kyle Oliver also has one that is terrorizing the cats and chickens at their placeand they keep him in the house and let him run the farm during the day.
The ones I kept are just as bold and out going but I think Ill just stick to a coon hide drag and not the real thing for a while.LOL

Smoke pups

Got a text and a video of a smoke X wendy pup that was doin a nice job treeing on her second coon she has ever seen. These pup are just getting ready to turn 7 months old and all of them are doing above average and well on their way to becomming coondogs. This cross has been made twice and we will make it again this spring. Mad Dog X Pounder blood at its best. These pups are wired 440 but are coon crazy.
I've been in the hospital and just now getting back on my feet and just in time for kill season. I've got several Smoke pups that will get hunted hard this season.

Can't wait for the bunk house hunt at Paul and Tim Vaughns thanksgiving weekend. I will be there hopefully with a young one to hunt.

Smoke pups

I have been getting alot of calls from guys hunting their 6 to 7 month old pups from different females out of Smoke.
The Smoke X Candy cross has a vid of PR Stone Rivers Overnight Fed-X on his own thread on the stud dog forum. Joe is doing a nice job with his pup
Talked to Wayne Poff in WV and his 6 month old female out of Smoke X Wendy is doing an awsome job. He said she will run and tree her own coon. He likes her alot.
Larry Harvey has a littermate male to Waynes female and Larry has been huntting his pup by his self and has treed 27 coon, had one slick tree, treed one possum and ran a deer about 300 to 400 yards befor Larry bumped him with the shocker.
Got a call last night from Neb. and a littermate male he calls Louie ran and treed 4 coon last night with the old dogs on his first night in the woods.
Charles in Columbia has a littermate female that he sent a short video to me of his pup up on the tree treeing her second coon she has ever seen.
So far Smoke pups are holding up their end of the bargin. We all just have to keep them in the woods this winter and let nature take its course.
Got a call from a guy in In. that saw a couple pups go out of the Smoke X Drizz cross and he booked two pups out of the next litter.
Cant wait to see some of these pups in the hunts this spring. They are hard huntting , loud, hard tree dogs. They will make a difference.

Kansas kill season

Our season opened last night.
Timmy and I hunted our smoke X drizz female and the smoke X wendy male.
The drizz female hunted out really good and hard and ended up on a big ole den. The wendy pup was haveing to much fun running loose to get in on sny thing till we got to the tree yhen he showed some interest.
Next dump we hunted both of them with Smoke. They hit on a hard runnin ole boar coon and ole smoke showed the pups how its done. The drizz female looked good all the way and treed rock solid. The wendy pup done a lot of dog barkin. At least he went all the way and was trying to tree . We made a drag and put the coon up a tree for him and he tracked it right to the tree and treed good on it. Wow is he forever loud. He will drown out the other dogs.
Good night all in all still need to hunt thesr pups hard. Takeing our smoke X Candy pups tonight.

GrNiteCh Mad Dog Tree Rockin Robin

Robin is in heat. After a lot of soul searching and research I have decided to take her to Dual Grand Gauge. I called Joe in Mo. and I will be takeing her to see Guage Tue. of this next week. She should stand around the 21st.
She is a kick dirt your face second strike first tree dog. Absolutely pull proof and deadly accurate. All in all not only is she a good competition dog but she is a pleasure to hunt. Maybe hunts a little to hard for a pleasure hunt but she dang sure will tree you a coon.
Robin is out of GrNite John II and like her big bro Smoke she is an every breath hard tree dog.
