That's what I thought johnny cakes were too...with cream corn and stuff mixed in corn bread and fried up. YEK! Why would you mess up corn bread like that!

Unless Corky's bride fixes them with the WONDERFUL sounding beans and ham! Then I bet they would be TRASTYl!!!!

I fixed hash brown casserol tonight ~beef cubed in small, bite size chunks, covered in Golden Mushroom Soup, topped with tater tots and cheese ~ cuz I thought I was going to the other place....so glad I did! Get to put my feet up for a few! Pop it in the oven and there you go!

Original Johnny Cake came about in the South before the Civil War.

Dogs are fed and pottied and I am at the WONDERFUL John Deere store fixing to pay my guys for the week..... They love me!

TONIGHT, tho.....the man is coming to look at my yard at the new house to see about the fence for my hounds! WHOOP! Everyone say a prayer that he doesn't look at me and think I'm just a "dumb female" and try to get one over on me!

This ain't my first rodeo ..... as they say!

Oh you are fencing your yard for the hounds? I was going to say that would be the way I'd go with it. Course you have to consider keeping them away from the company if you want to. We have the back yard fenced here at this place with a pet door that can be closed up. We leave it open most of the time. That would not work for everyone I know. Then I have another fenced in grassy area I let my hounds run loose in except at night or when I'm away. I don't do the kennel thing now but I do have a cement floored two run kennel that I used mostly for keeping females in season when I had them. It is a good distance away from the hound pen. I have scaled down my operation a good bit.

Put some thought in it ahead of time and decide what will work for you. Somehow I think you will not be jacked around very much!

I think what I am going to do is fence the entire back yard in and then split it. The kennels will be at the back side with their own run for the hounds and the part closest to the house will be for the girls and Rain. Rain is my walker female who I could never part with! She comes in and out where we live now but since we rent here I am very careful about having the big dogs inside.

Rain is also very protective and I know should anyone strange pull in the yard, she will let me know. She doesn't get all worked up over deer and critters around the yard....just people she doesn't know. It will be nice to be able to do "what I want to" with them for a change and not have to worry about "breaking the rental rules" so to speak. Don't get me wrong! The people we rent from have been a GODSEND for us! I just want to protect the property of others, so I am OVERLY careful!

And SHADE...that's something else to consider.

I don't have enough time to tell you about the SHADE! The trees are wonderful! I have three old oaks that look like they are protecting my entire back yard! The stretch thier limbs out and shade everything! Good thing I'm not a pool person! LOL! You would never keep one clean in the back yard!

In the front, there are two more oaks, not as big, but wonderful all the same! That is one thing that I fell in LOVE about this place! I LOVE the old magestic trees! They seem to cover and protect all that is under them!
