yes
you should only have to beat the dogs in your cast. so discouraging to get back to the club house and find out you and your dog didn't come back with enough points. why ??
did ya ever draw someone in a nt ch cast that is slow on there feet and know right away the other nt ch cast has a big advantage? that's not how it's supposed to be but the way the hunts are set up it is a fact.
i know people that will only take there dogs to nt ch for this very reason. i'm sure others know some to.
why discourage hunters this way? some will say cheapens titles but i don't believe that at all. they won there cast with plus pts they earned there win.
When people that don’t/won’t pay there pups or dogs up in UKC Performance program and then get on here and try to convince people/me that it don’t or won’t payoff but if we all pay in to there program or ideas we can save all the local clubs well.
I’m taping out, just tell me where to sign up.

Micheal, have you ever tried to count up all the sires paid up for the program? I started to just to make a point but gave up before I got half way through. Hundreds of them. If you listed every dog paid up for the program, you'd need a book bigger than the entire Bloodlines mag. Tons of money going in, an awful lot getting paid out. Just as it should be. This ain't PKC.
My biggest complaint about the PRP is, and has always been, that it doesn't pay points at events that hunt all dogs together. Since anymore about all we hit in UKC is Slams, the RQE's, hopefully the World, put a kid in the Youth Hunts, none of them pay points. But I wouldn't expect them to make the program for one person's views so we pay up everything and take what we get.

If and I say If the HTX is done honestly it would not benefit to put this title on a hound before putting it in a nite hunt . Looking at the percentage of passing would be a big lost in the choice of studs .
I've been doing this way to long now , about 1/2 the dogs wether it be pleasure hunter , Nitech or Grnitech " won't " hunt by itself .

Charles can you help me understand why it is that way. You say a lot of dogs won't hunt by themselves. I am not doubting you. I am questions the logic of coon hunters. Maybe one can explain it to me.
If I have a coon hound that won't hunt. I look at it as:
Having a boat that won't float.
A car that won't start.
A bowling ball that won't roll.
A fishing rod with no eyes on it for the line.
A computer without wifi.
A pool without water.
Am, I looking at this all wrong?
Is a hound that won't hunt kept around just because it can be.
I I have a dog here in the backyard and it is grown and not a puppy. It will go hunting. Can't imagine having one that won't hunt. Well I can, just not having it for long.

I judged a Nite Ch. on an HTX a few month ago. He never got more than 50 feet from us. His owner likes him.
Wouldn't a HTX "fail" stop a lot of these dogs that won't hunt alone from earning a NTCH. degree ? , if it was a requirement .
Just saaaaying.
