Thanks for the updates Darian and Dave. I like what I have seen out of the pups I have out of Ranger as well. One of the things I like is that they act like they have a brain. With several Ranger pups on the farm, from 2 months old to 4 months old, it is like I have old dogs there, not a bunch of pups yapping and acting crazy. They have manners but when you let them out they are full of energy and out investigating and aren't cowardly. We have three 2 month old pups in the house right now out of Sassy. Two nights and they were crate trained. Getting close to be house broke all ready. They also love attention. Start out well with a pup and take it to the woods and the rest will take care of itself if they have desire for a coon and have brains.

Darian Dillion sent me this video of his Ranger/Lou pup getting on the wood. She is just a little over five months old. I'm glad that Mr Woofter chose Ranger to breed his Lou female too. She is putting out some fine pups.

I like his pups actions for sure. He is throwing tree minded pups at a young age. Check out Ohio Valley Bluetick page on Facebook for more pictures of his pups.

Dave Woofter has been getting some really good reports on the pups out of Ranger and his Lou female. Several of the pups from that litter have all ready been treeing their own coon and split treeing. They will be 8 months old the 2nd of February. Lou is definitely reproducing some nice prospects.

I've been messing with some of the Ranger pups pictured above now that they are 8 to 10 months old and the weather has been better. I really like their actions and I am seeing him throw pups with desire and ability no matter what bloodline the female is from. Ranger has a mixture of Mad Dog, Smokey River, Uchtman, and Hammer blood in him so he can be used as an outcross with also some line breeding on most popular lines of Blue Dogs. No doubt in my mind that he will cross well on any nice female and he is a balanced hound that will do his part in the breeding pen. Long story short, I'd suggest giving him a look when you consider what to breed your nice female to as he brings a lot to the table.

Ranger
Ranger's dam was a female from Robbie Brooks stock that he really liked. That was a coondog to coondog cross that produced an independent hound. I too have seen Ranger do nice work several times without paying any attention to other hounds. Tim really liked Ranger. Many of us did too.

Re: Ranger
Thanks Gerald and Lance. Every once in awhile I still hunt Ranger and enjoy it when I do. Turn him loose and go get him Somewhere off of a tree with a coon in it. That about sums up the way Ranger is. Doesn't matter if he is hunted up or bone tired, he is going to go get treed somewhere.

Ranger/Lou
I get a good report on these pups weekly. They are still not one year old yet and most Guys have been hunting them alone for 4 or 5 months. I believe a pup from Spud/Lou would make a good cross on Ranger. Dave
Thanks for the update Dave. I have fooled some with the ones that I have kept out of Ranger with Karen's Oscar pup getting the most attention. He treed a coon ahead of a couple older dogs on one of his first trips to the woods before he had ever seen a coon. The other 4 pups I kept out of Ranger are also doing well for what little I have done with them. I took on the job of getting someone else's pup started and mine haven't gotten what they should have gotten yet. That will change in another week and then I will start putting it on them too.

Hunted Ranger Saturday night with Snapper. He will still tree them close or as deep as he needs to go. My only problem with him is that I wish that I had owned him when him and I were both younger. lol.

Hearing some good things about the Ranger pups. Looks like some of his pups will be able to tree a coon or two for their owners.

Dave Woofter let me know that a Ranger X Lou pup won Best of Show and 2nd place in the hunt last night in Morrow County, Ohio. Congrats to whoever owns this pup. She should be right around a year old now.
