Hey you ole outlaw, good to see you're still getting after em! Tis the season for a good deer race! If one is going to fall off the wagon, this is the time of year for it. If Tom Jennings was there he would have been petting ole Sarge up telling him good boy! Tom likes em to stretch their legs a bit & hone those tracking skills in their beginning stages! LOL

We had 4" of that nasty white stuff on the ground combined with some of those wonderful Arctic temperatures last week. Needless to say, my sorry behind did not get to the timber any

The week before was opening week of season, hunted 4 nights & treed some coon each night. I'm ready to get back after it this week starting tonight. Hopefully my biscuit eaters can manage to find a sick one wandering out & about.

Hey Jason, I hope you & your family had a good Christmas & New Year.

Ole Kink looks good stretched up on that wood! I hope he has continued to progress for you & is making you smile more often than not.

Been doing a little hunting up this way, those ole blue haired culls I keep have even been able to stumble across a sick one every now & again. I've been pretty darned sorry when it came to hunting during the Christmas / New Year week. Had some good weather to hunt, just had too many other irons in the fire to be able to get out & enjoy it. It figures the weather is turning colder than all get out & some more of that nasty white stuff is in the forecast for tonight. Poor ole potlickers deserve a better owner! LOL

Take care & keep the Kinkster in that Timber!

winter classic

we did good enuff to win out cast fri night. Saturday night it was ours for the taking but I made a stupid call and lost it for us. still kicking myself over it. got to visit with some old friends and meet some new ones. really had a great time.

First night in the woods since the classic. Kink got struck in about 510yards and he was stomping a mud hole in this one area and I was getting mad by the min. Finally he worked it out and got treed on a den tree. Sent him on and he trailed one about 100 yrds down the creek and put in park under a big boar coon. Gave it to him. Went to another place and sent him down another creek and he ran this one hard and came on the tree like a maniac! Let that one live for another day. Proud of my dog tonight. Didnt want to stop but got to go make some cabbage tomorrow at work.

the temp dropped about 20 degrees and the wind was blowing like crazy. compared to 60 and calm the night before. kink went over 900 yrds I never heard him open or tree. garmin was showing him treed so I headed to him. I never heard him till I got 400 yrds from him. he was on a slick that went up the side of a bluff. I will let him slide on this tree. walking out he acted like he smelled something good so I cut him loose. he worked hard but couldn't make anything happen. I guess it was to old for him to handle. better luck next time.

Hey Jason, yaw get much rain over your way the past few days? Weather here has been goofy with very cold temps, warms up and rains. Hope you and Kink have been having some good hunts, those are some very nice pictures you have posted. He is a good looking hound. Take Care and Good Hunting!

Steve we have been getting the same weather. seems like when I get a chance to go hunting it is raining. I think this crazy stuff is on its way out of here. I went this past weekend and Kink put two up a tree and one in the creek bank. First drop tho he got after one and couldn't make anything happen. When I went in to investigate he was swimming around out in the middle of a duck pond. Plan on going to a couple of hunt this weekend. got to get busy the state hunt is coming up fast. hope everything is well down your way. I sure enjoy keeping up with you and your dogs progress.

took kink to a ukc hunt sat. night he was clicking along pretty good till the end until the wheels fell off. seen some things that I liked and didn't like. finished with 350 plus

took him to a acha hunt last night and he showed out. shut them out twice with the meat. the last turn loose he had to go .60 miles to get under that coon. finished with 400 plus in a hour hunt. real good score for around here. good enuff for a first.
