COTTON

She has been improving every trip to the woods by herself. Goes hunting good with another dog whining in the dog box and has been getting deep lately. She struck in at about 600 yds last night on first dump. Went about 250 and got treed so ended up about 850yds treed with meat. Second drop put her right on deer and she opened twice and quit. Came out to truck. Third dump she struck in at about 200yds and ran about 200 more and SLAMMED a tree. Treed right and had the meat. Gone stay after her and see what happens. She wont be in the woods with another dog for a couple months.

Hunting

Went hunting with two young boys last night. The nixon twins. One of them got a blue dog from me and the other hunts a walker dog. Gets interesting around their house!! One of them is smart anyway. Made three trees hunting their young blue and my sons witch female and my buddys gyp i been huntin some for him. Rough night , two slick trees and a possum. Turned Cotton loose by herself at about 10:30. She struck a bad track and worked it up the creek for about 300yds and got treed right. Got in there and she was on a den but my son pushed a stick up in it and she had the coon. Called it a night at about 11:20 and fed dogs. Got in bed at 12:00 and got up at 5:15, GOT TO LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Thanks Scott, I can really tell the difference in her confidence level since I been hunting her by herself. She hasnt been turned with another dog for 3wks now and will NOT for the next 2mths at least. She has been treeing coons for me regular. I am really liking her.

Myers who put it on you?? Was it Rocky or Myers??LOL

Thanks Everett.cotton is coming along pretty good. Her and I had several disagreements over the past few months but she starting to see things my way. She is a clean, hard tree dog that will have a coon most of the time. I am huntin her completely alone and can see a difference in her. Got to keep after her. Don't forget me on a John and Shelly male buddy.

Huntin

Turned them loose last night. Turned my sons gyp witch and Matt smiths gyp loose. Got struck quick, went 350yds treed on big den. Turned Cotton loose alone, went 450 yds circled towards gravel road and I caught her. Turned out again, she struck burned up track put ole coon in underground spring. Turned other two back loose struck and treed within 150 yds. Den tree but had coon down in it. Turned Cotton loose alone , struck in at about 150 yds ran good track about 150 yds , slammed tree and had meat. Turned wich and Dixie loose again. Struck quick and went about 200yds treed. Two up one tree. Turned Cotton out at 12:45am , went about 400 yds came out in big field on other side of section. Never got struck called it a night.

good hunt you had buddy. glad witch finally did something!!! we didnt have a good hunt at the pkc hunt, rocky lost his cast due to handler error. gonna have to find me a handler i guess!!!

them hunt reports u postin sounds good to me. yea i was trying to get on the card and treed him but he wasnt treed at all. dogs got out of pocket and we decided to split the tree points when we found them. they was under a bluff along way from where we turned them out at. i had first strike and made a bone headed call
