I think I know what it is. And I have the cure.

Someone needs to drive down to Pierre Part and kick Troy Landry in the backside..it's all his fault!!! Him and that BS pice of junk show has got you folks that don't know better beliving that there are that many gators and snakes here....I would have thought grown men would have learned better than to believe all the hype on tv.

There is no other logical explanation...as I said earlier..as long as you don't lose your cast; you advance. And that is wherever you go and no matter if you score 1 coon or 10. In fact, I remember seeing a cast come in about an hour south of Shreveport that had seen 11 that night. I judged one cast that scored 6. Of course, we had a 4 way split tree in that number.

Id say wild hogs will get more hounds than gators. Yall do have hogs don't ya?

Yeah, we got hogs..and as far as them "getting' them; You must mean getting them scratched! Its all another blown up story! Unless you corner one, he's going to run.

Posted by Clif Owen on 09-11-2012 12:43 AM:

Let me add a bit more..these aren't the "razorbacks" you hear about in Arkansas and other areas. They are merely feral hogs descended from people's domestic hogs. They don't have nearly the same aggressive tendencies.

Posted by GA DAWG on 09-11-2012 12:43 AM:

Our hogs here must be off different breeding then. They'll come after you wide open. Mean devils. I've killed hundreds

Oh my goodness, we forgot all about the hogs! I wonder how many dogs will get scratched for running hogs. Those northern dogs have probably never seen one. Wouldn't it be awful to win your early round Thursday night and then run a hog or Armidillo by yourself the rest of the night on the late round?

Now we gotta ad killer hogs to the list.

VOO DOO

HEARD A LOT STORIES ABOUT VOO DOO BACK IN THE SWAMPS PEOPLE MISSING THAT GO TO THE SWAMPS TO GO FISHING AND HUNTIN THEY JUST VANISH NEVER SEEN AGAIN LOL THIS THREAD IS GETTING INTERESTING LOL WHAT ELSE IS DOWN THERE

Posted by Clif Owen on 09-11-2012 03:14 AM:

To be honest, there are a few bears scattered throughout the state. They are a nuisance in the NE corner where they are tearing up guys deer feeders. I guess it is possible that a dog might find one but have never heard of it in a hunt.

And before we got on that subject..the wildlife department denies the existance of panthers too.

When you get down to it, the truth is; there are trash animals in each and every part of the country. If you take a dog to a strange area you might run the risk of him running something if it hasn't been broke. The biggest difference is that it will likely be a lot warmer than some of you are used to. We ran into a similar deal once when we left home and it was about 75 and got to KY. and it was in the lower 30's the next morning. You got to prepare!

Posted by Clif Owen on 09-11-2012 03:16 AM:

I done lost my mind!! Why am I trying to encourage anyone to come?? STAY HOME!!!!! LOL!!

Posted by Billy Wilhite on 09-11-2012 04:28 AM:

Just got in from coonhunting here in NE LA. Yep I'm alive and well. Do this about 3-4 times a week, usually by myself. Didn't see any gators, snakes, bears, hogs, or even bigfoot himself. I guess the Lord must just be watching out for me.

I want to encourage all the people qualified to attend the World Hunt. You will probably enjoy yourselves.

Thanks and good hunting to all.

Congrats LA on having the finals there. Im not fortunate enough to be a part of this event this year (lack of dog power and lack of money) but I wish good luck and safe huntin to all participating. As far as location goes, i would like to see it back in rogersville tn. My back door.. Then I might try and get a dog worthy to compete again. Hope everybody has fun. Even the mad people

Oh my goodness, Voodoo????? Are they going to amend the rules and let everyone carry a firearm on the casts? Twillman, my dogs like to trail a fox for half the night. If they "run" something and don't get treed, they get electrocuted. Only one more week and then the real whining and crying begins!
