Yes if you give him the access pin. There is a pin to track and a seperate pin to shock. I might like that feature so I can zap my dad's dog in the box when he's slacking on correcting him. :-)

Garmin Alpha

_I've been trying to find the right person at Garmin to send a review to on the new Alpha to "possibly" help develope, in my opinion, a better system. Sorry, for some of the derogatory remarks about Garmin but I like the new direction Garmin has taken in the bird hunting industry, however, _feel they have made a big mistake in changing the basic features tri tronics has branded for over 15 years (that I know of). My number one complaint is the time taken to select the individual to be stimulated and most importantly the level!!! The level of stimulation (1-6 or 1-18) in training varies not just with individual dogs but with each individuals excitement level as well as the task or exercise at hand. The stimulation level has to be selected quickly (as well as the individual) to produce a productive response with out LAG! Lag time is my chief compliant. This is what I was trying to send to Garmin. I hope someone can put this in the right hands.

_Dear Garmin,
I'm writting about the new Garmin Alpha and "all of its awesomeness!" Two things! I can't believe you bought a perfectly good Idea (tri tronics) and changed the two best ideas they had, to integrate it with your device. Two things; you should have kept the 3 dog selector on the outside of the unit and made it manageable of the 20 dogs to be controlled inside the handhald. Two, _"Tone, stemulation 1-6" must also be on the outside for "quick access!" Anyone who trains dogs can tell you how imparitive it is to make quick corrections to the individual. My next question is who did you have do your product testing? Well, it was'nt a professional! I only see it to be valuable to bear and coon dogs. Certainly not _bird dogs and definitely not for training, due to the delay of time it takes to select the dog and the power level of stimulation. _No doubt, garmin is on the right track, but they're all over the place. Hmmm... once again, you almost got it figured out!

One more thing... I can't believe you charge $80.00 for a repair, no matter if it's just two striped screws blocking me from _replacing a battery!!!

ALSO... I can't believe you got rid of the trade up program by tri tronics!!! I geuss if a "small personable" sub companies business plan of yours is offering something you can't, then just get rid of it?

Boundary Alerts

So I see you can set a boundary for the dog. From what I read, it will let the handheld unit know when the dog goes outside that boundary. Does anyone know if it can beep, or shock the dog as well?

verify rescue mode is on

Is there a way to verify that rescue mode is on or off on a particular collar? Seems easy enough to select, but is there an indicator somewhere that tells it is already on or off?
