best coon hunter
I have had the privilege to have hunted with many many great hunters in the last thirty plus years. Top handlers and breeders, too. Here in Oklahoma there is a lawyer with very poor eyesight who raised Black and tans hounds for many years. He has done more to help the coonhunter here in Oklahoma than anyone else that I know of. MR. ED ABEL, my friend, I thank you for keeping our sport open here and allowing us to free cast our dogs. wish you were still as active now as you once were. To me, you are the greatest in the sport, hands down.

There is no doubt in my mind that Russ Bellar's name is more known than any other hunter out there. Ever since I was first getting into hounds 15 years ago as a 9 year old kid up until now Bellar has been in the winners circle and you always hear people mention his name at the major events.
DONT FORGET
JOHN WICK ,[ HOW HE DIDNT MAKE YOUR POLL ILL NEVER KNOW ] ,AND HERE IN THE MOUNTAINS OF VIRGINIA, A MAN BY THE NAME OF WILLIE DAVIS [ STARTED THE SCREAMING EAGLE BLOODLINE OF BLACK AND TAN IN THE 70S AND 80S ] THESE 2 MEN DESERVE TO BE ON THE POLL AT LEAST.

Well looks like one man has the most votes by far even though he is being side-stepped in the conversation!
