Are you the man in Georgia who raised Jet 8? I had heard thats where he came from, and a buddy of mine came and bought some equipment from him. Is that you, or am do i have the wrong person?

Rance, keep that old bluetick stew bubbling. 2007 looks to be an interesting year. I'm sure there are a lot of nice up and coming young blues that were born in 2006 out of the studs you have mentioned. Another stud that I think is and will be overlooked is Dual Gr Ch Jennings Blue Top Hank. He is 12 years old now but still getting pups. The cross I made with him and my Star female clicked beyond my best expectations. I'm gonna start packing my Rat x Sassy female along for a hunt or two. She's got a couple brothers not to far from me that are running and treeing up a storm with old Gun. Take care, Vic.

Russell, if your post was directed at me, no I've never hunted with Jet 8. If I'm not mistaken C.W. Eldridge raised him, but I could be wrong seems like I heard that somewhere though?

I guess I'll put my 2 cents worth in and stir the pot a little. LOL!!Most of the 8 pups are still under 18 months old right now. I do know that there will be some put in the hunts this spring. He outcrosses very well and those crosses reproduce early starting natural pups. Line breeding him in most cases, not all, I see the pups coming on at a later age. Lets say 10 to 12 months old. I have one here that I just purchased from Danny Perez is getting the job done by himself in rough conditions. Outstanding mouth and stylish tree dog with brains to spare. He is out of 8 and Chuck Coats Ntch Blue Hooker female. Hooker is out of ole Bullet and Danny Perez Grnt To Tough Betty female. He just turned 9 months old. Time will tell with 8 but as far as I am concerned, I have what I've been looking for and I like his breeding. He's still young but I know he has what it takes. 2 nites hunting and 4 trees with coon in them. Thanks Danny G.

Who had Jet 8 when he was a pup!

Dave Padgett and Bob Kennedy from south Georgia. 8 was brought north when he was 20 months old. Thats when I purchased Bob's half of him. Danny G.

Danny, I sure like the looks and breeding of your new young hound. I am a believer in the Bullet x Jet mingling of blood. I would love to watch your youngster go one of these nights. He looks and sounds like he may be the right kind. Keep that rascal in the woods. Knowing you I bet he will be seeing a lot of "solo" time! Best of luck with him. Vic

Hey Vic

Whats going on down your way. Just got this pup and he reminds me alot of 8. Great personality and so far has done great in 8" of snow that I hunted him in. Your right, hunt him alone and see what they have in them. This pup was never hunted by himself but has gotten in the dark on dead run first 4 turnouts. Like what I see out of him. If all goes well I will have him at National Bluetick days in Angola, In in May. Wish are weather would get better up this way. Later Danny G.

Danny,

ill never bash jet 8, i was a complete starnger and Ed was really good to me. im just trying to be frank when it comes to discussing dogs and it just makes me wonder alittle when you went out and bought one rather then having one off of one of yours or ed's litters.

btw, i think 2 bullet 2 pups picked up 1st places this past saturday night

I'll add a few to look out for:

1. CC Iron Will
2. Smoken Blue Magic
3. Mulberry Blue Sounder, very few paid attention to River until it was too late. If Harry is hunting him, he is a good one and will probably reproduce the same.
4. Pounder. I think he will end up with great numbers. I hope to get a pup out of him before too long.

I have heard good things about what Iron Will and Pounder are throwing. I guess Pounder is a given. Sounder is too early to tell and the same with Magic.

Is Sounder titled?

And look out for that young male Danny just bought. He may end up being the best of the bunch. Of course thats due to Bullet and not some dog with a number behind his name. LOL Just kidding!!

Didn't mean to come over like you were bashing 8. Did not mean that at all. When I hunted 8 for the last 1 1/2 years to have him in the woods and ready for hunt, you just don'have time to hunt young dogs. As for the one I have now from Danny P. He is not Jet bred on the bottom side but I like what I see. Ed wants to see pups start at 6 months old and be treeing. Some of 8's linebred crosses did and most did not start coming on until 10 months old. I will say that 8 outcrosses better and that is why my new pup is here. He has what it takes. I like him alot and it would not matter to me how he was bred on the bottom side as long as the hounds behind reproduced . I'm not stuck on myself and will not ever be when it comes to breeding a better hound. Thanks Danny G.

Danny, you have my respect !

Jealousy has been the downfall of the Bluetick breed for to many years, i am glad some others are following my line of thinking.

I would have to agree with that 100% Tony if we could amend it & add in "Blindness" !!

I have hunted Gauge just 2 nights since I got him Home. This pup is so smart , I can't believe it myself. He has treed 4 times in 7-8" of snow and showed me 2 coons and 2 dens. When I turned him loose he got in the dark fast, struck and treed in style. I don't know myself if crosses have been made like this in the past and if not we all missed the boat. Hope to have Gauge ready for Bluetick Days. PS Ken, I will say that I takes 2 dogs to create pups and Bullet has done great things. I see Jet 8's personality in this pup along with his tree style. Thanks Danny G.

Danny, I agree, just thought I would mess with you a little!! I will look you up at Bluetick Days. I would like to take a look at Gauge in person. Hopefully, I will have a future girlfriend of his hunting at Bluetick Days. I will also have Whitey there but his butt better be NITECH when we roll in there.

Rance, yes 2 Bullet II dogs got 1st places this last weekend, one was mine, my Rebel dog, it is his second 1st place.. I don't have time to hit many competition hunts, or he would have finished along time ago.

Nice looker, belly up against the tree....Is he a hard tree dog ? I do believe as Tony pointed out the jealousy and just plain stubborn of people have cost the bluetick breed . No doubt Bullet was looked over more than he should have been and now his offspring are doing what he started and doing a dam good job of reproducing and they continue to reproduce and win in the hunts
