Jeff
He is a good looking raskal. Tight hide and feet and appears to be in good shape, not too fat. An overweight dog is a wreck waiting to happen this time of the year. I am hunting quite a bit but mornings, only.
Adios,
Gary

Yes Gary, he is very athletic. The first litter of pups we have out of him seem to be the same way. We definetely know about the heat here in SE Texas. Combine it with the gulf humidity and it feels like a rain forest in the middle of the night.

Took 1.5 miles from truck just to get struck, but got it done despite the heat and dry conditions. Big hunting dog that will leave in a run and can get it done alone.

How long did it take him to get a mile and a half Jeff? I love a hard hunting dog.

Im not real sure Clyde because I didn't time him. He doesn't hunt a straight line, but rather hunts around the woods as he works his way out in the direction you sent him. If I had to guess I would say 20 mins. He hunts fast and rarely comes back when cut lose. He's gonna get treed somewhere. When it's hot n dry like now, with coons not movin much, he's gonna make u walk. Lol

Jeff, its great to see good blue dogs here in Texas. I would like to come down there and hunt with him sometime. Sounds like he's the real deal.

You are welcome any time. Once it cools off a bit I wouldn't mind coming up that way if you have some good hunting spots.

He is not perfect, but he gets the job done and suits me good. I have owned and sold a few really nice hounds, and Echo IV ranks up there with the best of them. He seems to be getting back in the swing of things since we got him treated for the lymes disease. If he keeps progressing, we are going to try and get him back in the hunts.

Glad to hear Echo's doing better. Yeah we've got some pretty good hunting and big tracts of land to hunt up this way, you're welcome to come up for a hunt anytime.

Pretty well I would say. The high scoring bluetick at the 2011 World Hunt is directly off Bodacious. I knew of several others that made it to the zones last year. They are consistently big hunting dogs with big mouths and nice treedogs.

Sure sounds like she should make a good one. There is a lot of top breeding in that pedigree. Good luck with her.

Hey Jeff,
How's the pups doing? I know this hot weather is tuff on them.
Sounds like Ike is coming along good. That is great, but watch him in this heat.
I put a mister on my 3 old dogs. Chug is now over 12 years old. This heat is hard on him.
I just finished my 18 month old Diamond female into a Dual Ch. Very proud of her. She is one of the pups I raise out of Maverick and Joy.
See ya'll at the State Hunt or maybe earlier.

Jerry,
Pups are doing good. We are still holding at 9. Taking every precaution in this heat.

Ike is coming along. We are taking it easy with him in this heat, but still trying to hunt him a little. He is a big hunter, so he might be his own worst enemy. He doesn't have a reverse.

Congratulations on Diamond. She sounds like a nice one.

We will see you at the State Hunt if everything goes well.

Take Care

Hot and Dry

Jeff good luck with the pups. It is so hot and dry here that the dogs have to stay around water to get a track to tree it. Hope yall have surviving this heat keep a close watch on em. My two are growing like weeds. Keep me posted on them

Thank you Perry. We are keeping a close eye on the pups and the momma. This is one of the reasons why I normally don't do summer litters, but I didn't have a choice with this gyp. She is only coming in once a year, so didn't leave many options.

I like that. Sounds like he hunts a lot like my Brummy dog. Cuts and slashes but is steady covering ground the way you sent him.
