Did the MS state hunt give a dog box to the overall winner and a embroidered Dan's hunting jacket to the 4 high scoring dogs ? The Ohio state hunt did.....

Congrats Ron on your first place finish!
Rick, again I want to congratulate you on your 2nd place win. But to say that the final round meant nothing to you, well, I am not sure why you would say that. Did you go home or did you compete in it? According to the rules, whether you agree with it or not, Ron won the State Hunt. I am sure he has a coon dog too. I think the KY State Hunt is set up the exact same way and it is probably one of the most successful State Hunts going. Although I was not there, it sounds as though the organizers put on a good hunt. Congratulate Ron and lets talk about the future.

I think they should share first place Hoosier Man. I still sense some bitterness in the congratulations Ron part.
nice job rick. sounds like you can be proud with 1st or 2nd place. dog did well and thats what matters.
We would like to congratulate all that won. It was a good two day event with alot of good dogs in the hunt and show for the Ohio Sportsmen & Sporting Dog Association with the host club of the Killbuck Valley Club. At this point this event will probably be run the same way next year with the same prizes. So maybe plan ahead if you do not like this format. Everyone is welcome and hope we have as much success as this year.

Only question I have is why does Holmesville get to have all these big hunts? I'm not saying it's a bad thing I just wonder if other clubs do not wish to hold them or does Holmesville apply for them?
It was sit up by UKC and the OSSDA to make it a 2-day event. There was no where else in the State of Ohio that would make the 100 mile different on Friday except in Holmesville. That is our only event there.
The others, you will have to go to the breed associations and ask.
