Hi Heather & Bob, I guess the old saying of birds of a feather flock together, holds true. It don't have to be speedy, just a recovery.

The fight is over......

It kills me to be posting this, but Storm lost the battle with Coonhound Paralysis today around 3pm, the paralysis took her lungs from her...my baby is no longer with me........I feel so empty inside and my heart aches.........I lost not only my hunting companion but a best friend......I never thought I'd tell her goodbye until she was old and blind an deaf, but I guess God does things that we can't ask why now......Thank you to all who have been praying for Storm and Me.....I know they reached heaven, but God had other plans.......At least I got to enjoy her the last 2mths, hunting hard and showing people what a coondog was.......Lord will I miss her and typing this is taking all I have........but I've got to keep moving forward, keep my head high because Storm was never a quitter and she never quit on me.........I thank God for allowing me to have a awesome hound for the period I did.......Thank you from the bottom of my heart everyone.........I will always remember the ones that stood by me..........

I will always remember you Storm!........my best friend

SO SORRY,

Jenn,
We were hoping that she could pull through and keep you company for years to come... but you are right, God had some other plan for her and also for you... There is nothing that we can do to make you hurt less. We will tell you we are praying for you and hope that as time passes.... and you feel Storm's presence in your heart, where she was from the very first moment you "fell for her" and she became your special dog.... We hope that your memories will bring you future smiles and that someday... somewhere down the road you meet someone, dog, animal, human... what ever... who just makes you feel like you are meeting Storm all over again.... That friend who just feels "Right" and comfortable as soon as you meet him or her....

We will continue to pray for you and will Thank God for giving Storm comfort and a new purpose.... and for letting you share her life and her yours...

Sincerely sorry, Heather and Bob

Thank you......

Thank you...all of you.....Storm is at peace not only in body, but in my heart....I agree she isn't suffering anymore.....this morning I could see it in her eyes that she was telling me goodbye for the last time.........The spark of light just wasn't there.......no expression, no tail wag, just black eyes....I told her I loved her and laid in the floor crying to her.......she just laid trying so hard to get air.......I knew my girl wasn't long for this world......it still seems like a dream, but my vet said she should have died last time.....she was a miracle not only to me, but to medicine...........but at least I GOT TO ENJOY HER, those short two months, and yes Heather I have lots and lots of great memories with her and about her that I will never forget.......its just a shame.....a true shame to me.......thank all of you for your comforting words and prayers.....they are kept close to my heart.....always.......and if Storm was still around she would be thankful to know how many people cared about her, that didn't even know her........thank you from the bottom of my heart............

Jenn, I am sorry to hear about Storm, if you are interested I have a 4 month female off of Sid that I will sell you at a deal. I know she won't take Storm's place but I think she might help the healing process. Again I am sorry to hear about Storm and may God help you thru this difficult time.

Posted by MuddyRivrKennel on 06-10-2010 03:46 AM:

Thank you for the offer Jeffrey......... but I have a 10week old HARDWOOD BEAN pup, and a 14week old Hardwood Dreamer pup that is helping with my grieving........nothing will EVER replace Storm....I've never met a more honest, loving, strong willed dog in my life, and may never again but at least I can say I owned her and the great memories I have of her.....Again thanks for the offer, but my luck with SID dogs hasn't been the greatest, Christy agrees, no doubt about it they are straight up coondogs, I MEAN COONDOGS, but I don't think I'm supposed to own one.....bred one of my females to SID and she ended up having a C-section.....13 pups later, 2 died on the way home, the vet told me I was going to lose my female, she didn't produce milk so I had to bottle feed all 11, and a week exactly later, my female killed all 11 of them.......then this with Storm......I don't know if I could handle anything tragic again.....I know it's a slim chance, but gosh the way my luck is going.........

So sorry to hear this Jenn. Be strong, We will all miss reading your posts about your favorite girl. Just keep your head up and stay at it with your young hounds. Any time you feel like talking about Storm, just make the post about her, I will be glad to read story after story about your exceptional hound. Once again sorry for your loss.

I'll actually miss updating her post telling everyone how AWESOME she's doing.......she was my world......I fought beside her the 1st time I thought I'd do it again, but she decided to let go......She NEVER gave up though.....I told her this morning if it was her time to go I wouldn't be mad....it's sad but I'm afraid she listened.....she knew the paralysis came on too hard this time.....I knew my girl wouldn't pull out of it......but I stayed by her faithfully, loving her and telling her how much she meant to me.........I feel like the tears I've cried could fill the sea, but they are in vain......she's not suffering anymore.....so I can't be selfish and want her back knowing she'd be in pain again..........so I've let my friend go.....she won't be forgotten, and will always be remembered! For the STRAIGHT UP COONDOG SHE WAS, and my baby.........Storm you were my world and my heart!

Jenn,
I am so sorry to hear of Storms passing. I know you done all you could. Just hate to hear it. When I saw her she was looking real good and seemed to be a picture of health. I know things can hit suddenly and I think you handled all the trials you have faced in the past year with such vigor we all could use a little more of. Now I will turn my prayers from you and Storm to just you, that you would be able to overcome one more trial in life that we all must go through. Some just sooner then others. I hope to see you around and in the same spirits as before. Don't let this get you down, let it make you stronger. As if you weren't already one of the strongest female coonhunters I know. You are a great person and she was a great friend to you. I am sure she will be greatly missed and I just hate I didn't get to see her in the timber.

Sincerly,
Brian Teague

Thanks Brian, what you said has really meant alot to me........Thank you for the prayers and thoughts........Storm was a great friend and hunting buddy....Alot people never got to see her in the woods, but the ones who did, she impressed.......I guess she was my diamond in the rough........I hate she's gone, but now I know she won't suffer anymore or get down.......it still seems like a dream to wake up and she's not in my flooe wagging her tail or when I go to the kennels, she doesn't meet me at the door 1st.....it's gonna be hard, but I'm a strong person and will cope.......

Dillion......thanks for the sympathy....Storm was a one in a million and my pal.....an thanks bout the other night, me and Whitey tried our hardest.....

YOU WILL BE MISSED SWEET GIRL

R.I.P. MRK'S NITRO POWERED STORM. I had the pleasures of putting you in your first hunt ever and winning with over 300+ and no minus. You were a TRUE COONDOG and everyone that knew you, KNEW IT. Girl you were the best dog I have ever seen in the woods but I know now, you are treeing in the Holy Land. I will miss you but never forget about you. Jennifer you treated her well and stood by her side through thick and thin. Storm will always be in our hearts and in our minds. Jennifer stay strong and remember Gods word.

Matthew 5:4: Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

God is on your side and will see you through.

Lets remember storm as the storm we once knew doing what she done the best. And that was being a coondog..

Goodbye my dear friend.......

Goodbye my dear friend....although it's hard to say, I know you are resting at peace......the trips to the woods will never be the same and my daily trip to the kennels will not be graced with your presents, but I do know you will ALWAYS live on in my heart my sweet baby! I will have you with me everytime an ole hound sounds off or at a night hunt when I'm standing an listening for that strike...you will be there........Storm I not only laid you to rest here on Earth, but in my heart also......you will never be forgotten but will live on through me.......you gave me unimaginable strength that can only be shared by true friends, an you gave me that.........you made me a stronger person that I will only know....thank you my dear friend......sleep in eternal peace for you will never be forgotten, and WILL ALWAYS be remembered for the great hound you were........my dear sweet Storm.......

Your Welcome........

Heather I never wanted to keep Storm an her talent to myself.....I never wanted her struggles an passing to be forgotten......she was a one in a million dog who meant the world to me.....and others.....She was a fairytale in my world of trouble.....she was my calm in the "Storm"......I thank God everyday that I was "her" owner....she chose me......But I have peace with her passing because I know she would have not ever gotten "better" in her body........she would have kept going down and suffering the lose of her legs an mobility.......I...somehow this time wasn't able to handle it and I think she knew it........she let go before she got any worse.........but I have peace......she's buried behind my kennel under an BIG oak tree, so she'll never be far from her home........She'll always be with me everytime I go to the kennel.....she left her mark in my heart......not many dogs stop me cold in my tracks, but she did........she was special.......But her death was for a reason....who knows what tomorrow holds..............
