-- Bright Eyes LED head (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=328729)
I want to know is, is the same volts ,ran through the led head ,is a 28 pushing more through the head than 21 ? like a hand spot light ,I think only has 17 volts going through it max ,I know a 28 will have longer burn time ,but is it brighter ?(more volts through the head or bulbs )I hope u can understand what I am saying .sorry for the confusion .
Craig, Forget what you know about what makes a light bright. Old style lights the higher the voltage the brighter the light. LED's dont work like that although there can be slight differences. LED's are made brighter or dimmer by controlling the current not the voltage. There is very little to any difference in and led head on 21 to 28 volts. Hope this helps
white lighting
Ray I don't understand what makes them bright you say current what produces the current? More voltage should produce more current or stronger current huh? I don't know, but anyways are currently working on something else?

Thanks that did help, Ray
Since this is a LED light thread..I'm reading here and on pkc that the newer heads are interferring with the Garmins..Making them lose signal..Any of yall saw this happening?

Mr. Conrad called today answered my questions about
the white lighting head he has to offer. Well I had him send me
one. Sounds to me he has built a lite to last us hunters for
a while also upgradeable in the future. 2 year warranty, hea
that put the iceing on the cake. Only time will tell how tuff they are, it seems he sure has tried his best to build one.
Thanks for calling me Sir.
Well I have had the bright eyes white lightening about 2 weaks and I noticed a few times when I turned it on that it wouldn't light up on the low settings but when I turned it up on high it would come on and then I could turn it down and it would work.
Not tonight.........all it would ever work on was high......I could dim it with the dimmer on the head but the only place it will work on the click switch is on high............I will call them Monday and see what they have to say about it.........

Shipped mine back today. I've had it a month and it quit suddenly during UKC hunt. I was using a 28 voly box battery. The problem was not the battery. I was told they never had that problem before. I have enjoyed it up to that point.
I bought the package deal and it came with a 21 volt belt battery. So battery and head is all new and from them.........I thought it might be the switch but sounds like it might be some thing else......Sure ticks you off after spending $414.00 to get it..........liked everything but the weight till it started messing up though.........I have a hunt tonight and sure hope it gets me threw it.......takeing my little smart light for a back up........

Only thing that I can guess is that you guys aren't rough enough on your equipment. I have had mine since the WC and have hunted with it, dropping it on the ground and in water. Even kicked it one time as it hit the ground. I haven't had one problem out of mine. Quit babying that head and hunt with it!

Tone it down guys, or they will delete another good topic...
no problems here
Hey Guys, Sorry to hear a couple of you have had a problem with a light. There have been over 600 White Lightning heads sold so far and we have had two returned so far with a problem one was dropped right on the switch and broke the switch knob off. The other was an electronic failure with no known cause. Okie Dawg sounds like your light has a cold solder joint on the switch no problem to take care of. I cant promise that one of my products will never fail but i can promise that we will be here to help if it does. Take Care and good hunting, Ray

I as others was unsure on which head or light to go with, All seem to be fine products but I did go with the Bright Eyes head. I am one that has to have my spotlight and could never live without it. I run a 28 volt belt light and just knew no matter what head I went with I would never give up my spotlight. Well the first night with the new head I can say my spotlight is a thing of the past. I would have never thought it was true but it sure is. I hope the pop covers come out soon for it but its unreal bright and very well made.
Ray, I bought the WHITE LIGHTING Head from your people at the AKC World and while all the switches where off... it would just start blinking... several of my hunting buddy would notice it...
the last night I hunted with it... it would not even stay on...
I sent it back this past week... could you give me an update on this

Do they make a led head for 6v night lights? I have two with new batteries and it takes two to make it through the night.
It wasn't the head it was the switch on the battey. I called them this morning and couldn't be happier with how I was treated. They will have my replacement out soon and I will be a happy camper...........Isn't the head at all. It was just a faulty switch that can happen with any of them.........Couldn't be happier with my light though and the service I got when I had a problem.
You don't really appreciate the light till you are forced to go back to useing the one you bought for your wife.......LOL
Went to a PKC over the weak end and those guys thought they had bright lights. Going back this weak end and show them the differance...........( :
THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE........BRIGHT EYES

Lumen Rating

I am sure that the led they are using are rated at these lumens but they are not pushing enough current with the drivers to bring it to its max lumen output. Most Led’s output 100 lumens per 350 ma. By the burn times being advertised and ma hour batteries being used the G2 and the bright eyes head are using 0.5625 ma a little over 1/2 an amp. I don’t see how they can get the advertised lumens at those values even with a boost driver. I can tell you that the smart light is 120 lumens I measured it with a lumen meter myself and it is brighter than the predator that is advertised at 700 lumens. The 5w Stanley spot light is 196 lumens I also measure it and it is a tad brighter than the G2 head that is advertised at 800 lumens. Hunt with the lights and see which one you like the best but don’t buy one because of the lumen rating and expect it to be the brightest.

AIN'T NO TURNIN BACK KENNELS

ray conrad and brighteyes lights
I recently bought one of the thundemaxx lights from brighteyes and loved it. Unfornately i had some problems with it and i wont go into details because it is not important. What is important is when ray conrad said on this thread that he cant promise his products wont have problems but him and his company will always be there to help anyone with problems, he means it boys. I called brighteyes help lines and talked to one of the employees and told her what was going on and told her what i would like to happen and she said she wasnt sure if they could do what i wanted. So i sent a letter when i mailed my light back for repairs and i would have been fine with repairs because that is what they gurantee. I am glad to say that Ray Conrad called my phone personly and left me a voice mail and told me to give them a call back that he was going hook me up with exactly what i wanted. I havent received my light back yet but will in a few days and im sure that it will be everything i wanted. Ive always loved brighteyes from day one since ive started hunting and to know that the company shows this much concern when something does go wrong means more to me than words can describe. If you want a light that will make you absolutely fall in love with it and have a company that will stand by that product no matter what or at least in my situation. Brighteyes is the way to go.
Ray Conrad i would like to personly thank you for what you have done for me, It means a great deal most company would have just blew people off. I am glad to be one of your customers, most likely for life.
