b&t redbones

I had an accident with my buddies redbone male and my black and tan female she had 7 pups and they all came out looking closer to redbone than black and tan. My son wants me to single register one as a redbone but dont know I dont like the idea of a registered crossbred no matter what it looks like jmo

Those B&T like redbones are thhrowbacks to the old saddleback lines. I happen to like the way they look. Bought a started 2 year old "blackbone" at Christmas time this past year. He looks like a mini-bloodhound. Got his seven generation pedigree--lot of Stillwater breeding. Mine is registered X-bred, but was told that if he is bred with a redbone female, any pups that come out red can be registered as redbones.

Born here

#1, A black and tan colored redbone is not a redbone even if it comes from two PR redbone parents. #2 Yes. Have had them born here. #3 The ones born here were straight up black and tan with pumpkin seeds over the eyes and ALL the B&T markings. #4 Was at Glenn Bosley house and saw with my own eyes the prettiest B & T, a full brother to Alabama Raider. #5 Have seen with my own eyes Redbone mother and a B & T father produce some of the prettiest darkest redbone litters. All red.And yes they looked black at birth but had a red tint but turned dark dark red. #6 Have seen walker/ Redbone crosses have a mix of redbone and B&T and walkers. The B&T's were not colored up totally like a true B&T. #7.I have believed that the right Timber Chopper blood crossed up right would produce some B & T's, not all but some. #8 An old timer once told me that those bugger black and tans always seem to turn into coonhounds. The one I had blew the top out on his first wild coon. #9 Mike Davis once told me that the opposite was also true that some B & T gyps threw some red pups. Believe it was on the coast down in NC...... #10... It's all good.

I bred a 1/2 walker to a PR redbone...she had 1 B&T, he's about 9-10 months old, been running loose, hope to see if he has any skills here this summer.

Are you trying to breed the walker back out of her?
