Is it just me or does it seem like this forum killed much better deer this year than any of the years past? I remember some nice ones in the past but not this many! Some beauties that's for sure.

The bad part about all this is..Lots of these deer are probably killed on land that we coon hunt on! If we could only convince these deer hunters here in the south, that coon huntin dont effect the killing of big bucks.Well,I'd have alot more land to hunt!!!!!

Posted by Todd K / UKC on 12-04-2008 01:14 PM:

This is a "feel good" post for me. I have lots of neighbor problems around the 80 acres that I own and it takes some of the fun out of deer hunting for me. But when Allen asked if he could take his nephew behind my place on his first deer hunt and see if they could shoot a doe I said heck yeah. This is Paul Gingerich's son Andrew and that smile on his face with that nice doe Allen shot makes all the headache worth while. Good job Allen. That's what it's all about right there.

100 % pure condensation & -6 windchill's will cause that after settin motionless for over 3 hour's! The best part it is colder today & I can't wait to get back out there this afternoon. Got a southwest wind that I been hopin for for a great spot!

I must admit there was a lil ground shrinkage involved when I made my way across the valley to him but he is my first with a smoke pole. Harvested him at 100 yards give or take with open sight's out of a Remington Genesis packed with 150 grain's of Triple Seven & 295 grain power belt bullet. Awsome shootin stick !!

I let an 11 point slip away after having an hour to shoot as they came in & bedded down 70 yards from me but couldn't see either one's head gear clear enough at that time to decide.

He is now safe till next year but if his grampa show's up that might be a different story.............
