Thanks to all who have served and all who are still keeping our country safe.
We all need to remember that there are only two defining forces that have willingly give their life for us.One is Jesus Christ and the other is the American solider one died for your soul and the other died for your freedom.

US Army Retired

I served in the Navy for 6 yrs and then the Army for 8 yrs. I served in Iraq in 2003 with 1st Battalion, 27th Field Artillery, a MLRS unit. I was medically retired in 2005 after almost losing my left leg. I still like to coon hunt but it is hard for me to do a lot of walking. This is why I have been doing mostly bench shows. This year I am trying to win the bench show Purina points with my redbone female. I also hope to be able to compete in more Hunts this year.

U. S. Army. 2 years. 1955--1957. Last of the draftees. Country boy was married, wife expecting child, got letter to go to Little Rock to be examined for military service. Got on bus, go through line of Drs. get back on bus, unload in Camp Chaffee, Ark. 8 weeks, infrantry training, go home, then to Fort Hood, 8 weeks armored Inf. with tanks. Wife has baby, comes see me when she 3 weeks old. Finish training, get on train, unload in Ft. Lewis, Washington, get on ship with about 1200 more GIs. Stop at Yokohama, Japan, unload me and 5 others, the rest stay on ship and go to Korea. I am stationed at Hardy Barracks in downtown Tokyo, tdy with 8th Engs. working for United Nations. Stay there 16 months, then on ship back to states. Honorable discharge. Daughter is now 1 1/2 years old. I said all that to say this. Our late and great VP had 4 deferrements because every time he get letter his wife would be pregnant............Oh well..........Some do, some don't.
