Swag picked up another cast win last night in a PKC hunt and added $45 more.

He will tree them 50 yards away or a mile away. He doesn't mind the trip.

Currently in the VA State Top 10 and holding!!

He likes to touch the tree with his front foot...I think I've seen that before

We've had a productive week. Back to back cast wins Thursday and Friday nights.

Swag picked up another UKC cast win last night. He treed two wild singles and one big den by himself and ended up with 450+. The coons weren't moving very much where we were and he had to go hunting to find them. Unfortunately it wasn't enough for the overall NiteCh win though. Seems like we can't catch a break!

He's been looking great though lately. He just gets in there and gets the job done.

We'll get him there one of these days.

I hope you all have a great Easter weekend and that you're able to take a few minutes to remember what our Lord Jesus Christ did for us when He died on the cross for our sins. Many times we get caught up in the busy-ness of life and forget what He did for us.

I sure would like to see Poison Smoke pushed a little harder, his few pups is proof he has a lot to offer the walker breed, may need to ship him back to Homemade kennels..

We'll take the weekend off but will be back wide open the following week. We have a little ground to make up to run for a truck ticket but he can do it. There are three PKC hunts in a row this coming week nearby. He has won 5 of the last 7 casts he's been in and he's done it by treeing coons and staying out of trouble. He's just a pleasure to hunt.

The coons aren't moving very much here. We went Monday night and Swag treed in two dens. On the second den he hunted in deep and scratched out a cold track. When we got in there to the tree, we could see up through the hole into the den and could see that the coon was home and balled up inside. He doesn't make many dens but it's nice to know when he does that he has him most of the time.

A good friend of mine said a coon is denning right next to his house and already has kittens that are about the size of rat. When you tap on the tree you can hear them in their squealing. Another guy I know said he saw a kitten on the outside of a den that was roughly the same size. I guess it won't be long before they are out and about - I always begin to see them around June.

I agree that Smoke does have a lot to offer the Walker breed. I know he isn't being bred much but he can throw his ability into his pups. I like mine and sure wouldn't mind having another out of the right female. Maybe a southern vacation is in order for him!

Picked up another UKC cast win Saturday night with NiteCh 'PR' Candy's Stylish Swag. He scored on 3 coons. We ended up with 525+. He treed the first one with the other dogs and then managed another coon by himself while the other dogs backed him. He managed one more by himself and then one circle tree by himself. That's a solid score around here in the mountains but what do you know- the other NiteCh cast came back with 625+! I declare we are past due! That makes the 17th cast win he's had. It's not for lack of talent!!
