Last night with All Jazzed Up (6 Again x Tree Slamming Lady) and Rejet Jr. (Rejet x May Flower). Good time and a good hunt with Bobby Carter-helps take your mind off the bad times.Jazz is bred to Jet 10.
Terrence Baliff called with some mighty good news. His Jetta female (Jet V Again x Dual Gr Bess 4) won 2nd place on Friday night and then came back on Sat. won Best of Show and 1st place that night to make her a Ch Nt Ch. Now everything will be perfect if she has pups from Jet 10! Knowing her owner she will be dual granded out as soon as she weans those pups.
We got an old fashioned foot race going between Paul Kieffer and Erick Veenhuis to see who is going to finish their female out to night champion first. Paul has two seconds on Zoey and Erick has two seconds on Hookers Blue Outlaw Woman (Girl). There will be no losers in this race. Best of luck to both of you.
Thanks to all of you who contacted Ed and I on the loss of Jet 10. He would have been three years old on the 27th of May. We have 3 females bred to him and with any luck they will all have pups. Thanks again!
Early morning shot of a special pair of pups to me. This is Gert (Jet V x Dual Gr Ch I Love Lucy) and her littermate sister Lucy barely visible in the photo, treed in the swamps where several generations of Jet dogs have treed coon-including their sire Jet V.
Nice pic of Jazz
Lots of great memories with her. No hound is perfect but we really really liked her. Lance
So sorry for the loss of 10. A friend of mine drew him not long ago and was very complimentary of his style and demeanor. Hate to lose the good ones.

Schotzi
Jeff Timm's and Nt Ch Timm's Blue Schotzi (Jet 9 x Joleen) won high scoring Bluetick at English Days with 800 plus. This also is win number three for Jeff and Schotzi. This little female litter mate to 10 is really something. Cory Carlson and I plan on having Joleen backed up to Jet 9 for their 3rd litter together just as soon as she comes in.
Cary Costlow told me he has over 20 dogs and only one is not for sale-that one is Cruze (Rejet x Joleen).
Other good news this weekend was from Ed Sturm and Nt Ch Souix Valley Jack (10 x Lady II) getting their 2nd Night Champion win. This pup is also qualified for the World Hunt. All Jazzed Up is a litter mate to Lady II and I hope she has a litter off Jet 10.
Good luck to all of you and keep the good news coming-best day of my life so far!
This is a picture of Bobby Carter and Ridge Eldridge, my youngest son with Blue Bio Rejet Junior (Dual Gr Ch Mead's Blue Rejet x Dual Gr Ch Blue Bio May Flower). Junior looked real good in this heat last. Ridge is returning to Ga. Southern and we wanted to show him some Coons before he left.

Hats off to a couple of dogs carrying 6 Again in their pedigrees and the people hunting them. The Performance Points Earned listing in Coonhound Bloodlines has Ch GrNite Ch Outcross Diamond Delta Dash doing very well at this point in the year. At the top of the list is Gr Nt Ch Steber,s Mighty Lonesome II. Best of luck to John Steber and Cary Costlow the rest of the way. Think how many Walker dogs they have beat to be where they are at. I am your number 1 cheerleader-keep the good news coming-again and again!
I relish the role of cheer leader for these good men hunting Jet bred dogs. Early this morning Jeff Timms text me that Schotzi got win #4 last night. I look forward to his next winning call saying she is now a Grand Night Champion, a title she so richly deserves. Jeff has two males pups from her and his Iron Will II. They know how to bend their necks already and there are some high hopes for these two and the rest of that litter. Best day of my life so far!
Congrats! I'm with ya on this subject. Needs to be more bluetick folks cheering on any bluetick dog that wins. I'm proud for everyone that hunts and wins with a blue dog.

A big day for Paul Kieffer and Zoey. At 9:44 EST I got a text from Paul that she had made show champion. Further on it read "Getting ready to work on the night ch deal here shortly." At 1:02 EST text "Mission accomplished Ch Nt Ch Lake Country Blue Zoey!" Quite a day for these two. Zoey is out of Rejet (6 Again x Joanie) and Scott Phillip's Hooker. This cross is pretty special to us. Zoey is a littermate to Cary Costlow's Wild N Blue Jet and Sarge. There are at least two more from the cross that were getting the job done and as I have said before-none of these will hurt your eyes either. Now Paul on to bigger and better with you and Zoey. Good luck!
very nice

Got a message from Henry Miller this morning saying his Gr Ch Nt Ch Quail Creek Bell (Rejet x Hope) picked up another Nt Ch win. Henry I enjoyed Autumn Oaks, so good to see you again-it had been awhile.
Been getting a little negative feedback from young guys of late concerning my support of these dogs, the MEN who hunt them and the breeding methods that have been employed so that we can get the results we get in the woods as well as in the hunts. I thanked them for caring enough to contact me and sharing their feelings and opinions and wished them well with their hounds. Try not to judge dogs or people based on just one hunt. There in no teacher like experience.
Several young dogs here, should prove to be an interesting Fall for me. Hope to see some of you at the BBOA Zone 6 Championship in Roberta, Ga. September 30th and October 1st. Everyone is welcome!
Henry Miller and Bell
Another weekend and another win. Henry and Bell got win number 4 last night. If my fuzzy math is correct she is one win away from grand night champion now. Cary Costlow- this is another one from Rejet x Hope. Rejet and Hope are both out of 6 Again. Cary's Delta Dash is a grand night with wins toward grand show champion. She and Hope are littermates. Delta has the last litter off Rejet, again if my memory is correct.
I have got two males here out of different litters from Jet 10. Their dams are littermates off 6 Again x Treeslammin Lady. Gonna put the time in these 2 to see what they are made of. Cory Carlson and I are pining our plans for the future on our Jet V x I Love Lucy pups. Dual Grand Lucy is a product of a half brother/sister cross off 6 Again.
Combine Henry's news on Bell with Jeff Timm's news that Schotzi, a littermate to 10, is now a grand night champion, and it makes it easy to say-this is the best day of my life so far. Hope it is for you too!
New Labels
Found a new label to describe people like me who hunt a strain of Blueticks-"Line Blind!" Love it. Not enough to be "Kennel Blind" any more. Wonder how a founder of our breed would have felt to have some young man pull in his yard with his 1st Nt Ch, after raising one litter of pups and be told-"Elbert Vaughn, you are line blind."
Geographic barriers limited travel and intensified breeding which resulted in the formation of breeds or lines with not only hounds but all types of animals both domestic and wild. Any sustainable worth for maintenance or continued improvement were developed by these and sound breeding practices once men took over the selection process.
Your individual journey can be an education. If you make that NtCh, breed a litter and happen to beat one of us "know it alls" who follows a line of dogs different from yours, you just might come away with the opinion that you now know enough. What I hope is that we all strive to breed better dogs from solid lines that produce outstanding cooners for years to come. Learn as we go and then who knows we may come up with another "new label" called "Winner!" Good luck.
Congratulations to Cary Costlow and crew with their recent wins in BBOA's Zone 7. Brad Jenkins won King Of Hunt with Jet II and Dexter Whately won King Of Show with Cruze. Both dogs are out of Dl Gr Ch Rejet. My wishes for continued success with your kennel Cary. There are a couple of males in there well on their way to being Dual Grands.
Most of Georgia remains in a drought. The SE area of our state received some rain when Hurricane Mathew blew up the coast but that has about been it. These dry conditions make it better to get around in the swamps. I travel a lot with work and see a number of coons ran over-this time of year those numbers always increase.
Normally make a trip to Michigan for a hunt with Ed each October. Did not make it this year. Tried to coordinate it with Jeff Timm's visit but did not pull it off. My loss, maybe next time.
I have a Thanksgiving tradition around here that has not been shared with you on here. I give thanks for these hounds and look back on the memories from this past years hunts as well as those from previous years. Not trying to sound old but I'm stock piling decades of memories. Some of them, like hounds, are more special than others. When you use the word special that can mean the "good ones and the bad ones!" Time has convinced me that we are more likely to remember those really good nights where you treed a lot of coons and/or won the hunt. Good chance you will never forget those nights you fell in the creek, had the Law called cause ole Blue did not see some deer hunters posted sign or that last quick drop that kept you out to daylight. With those mixed blessings in mind I do something special for these little darlings today. Most of you know everything I am hunting now is Jet bred and Purina fed. Today is a little different, special like I said. I rummage through the freezer removing all the deer meat, hog mostly smoked sausage , any rabbits or squirrels and meat balls. I cook up a concoption, which is being thawed out as I peck this post out and add it to the dog's feed today. Their daily feeding of dry food is consumed with haste. (love people asking me what I feed and then hearing them say "Buffy won't eat that!") Mine will feast in a little while and as I think back on the years of memories I pet em a little more too. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks
CW
Thanks for sharing and thanks for keeping threads like this alive. Means a lot to me to be able to read that the Jets are still flying.
Lots of great memories, Kevin
