Linda season comes in ,in 5 days, if it would go to raining Iwould dig .seems like when it real dry out, your roots won't weigh as much when they dry..so I usually wait till wetter times..most times when it normal, it takes 3 pounds of green to dry down to a pound of dry..when its real dry out it takes around 3 and half pounds to 3 and 3/4 to make a pound of dry...I think this because it starts out with such a low moisture content that when it does dry down you lose more weight..now thats just my thoughts on it..Mike they are cutting acorns here but thats only because thats all there is here..no hickory or pig nuts and very few walnuts...squirrels may have a very long winter around here....

Good Morning, So nice this morning went out and did outside chores. TD didn't get home last night till 7 and Jeff Ashmore stopped by Left at 9 then he had to go to bed had to get up and be in Champaign at 5 am. Then had a couple other stops to make. He will be dragging tonight. Coonhounds are all loving this weather. Thanks for the info on the ginseng Rex I did not know that. Mike saw my squirrel this morning across creek chomping on walnut plus 1 rabbit. If TD doesn't get any squirrels soon he may disappear. Everybody have a good day. Still doing rain dances not working LOL
Linda

I use Frontline Plus. Don't have a bit of trouble with them. My kennel has been cleaned of fleas for 10 years. I used Malathion in my yard and never had any more trouble. Rex I heard starting tomorrow back in the oven. They had St. Louis at 104 degrees for Thursday. I think I am going to sign off for the night. Take care TD and Rex and everyone else. Have a nice night and sleep well.

Thought you guys might get a chuckle out of this.

People born before 1946 were called The Silent
generation..
- People born between 1946 and 1964
are called The Baby
Boomers.
- People born between 1965 and 1979 are
called Generation X,
- And
people born between 1980 and 2010 are called Generation
Y ,
Why do we call the last group Generation
Y?

Y should I get a job?
Y should I leave home and
find my own place?
Y should I get a car when I can borrow
yours?
Y should I clean my room?
Y should I wash and
iron my own clothes?
Y should I buy any food?

Looks like rain pretty much missed us again. I was watering goats the other day and the rain gauge was there and TD said to give it a drink it was thirsty. Cleaned brush coles moultrie left in creek out yesterday so when it rains it doesn't plug up. TD was going to Terre Haute today maybe 2 times. He is hoping he gets home earlier tonight. Didn't get in till 8:15 last night. Gut Pete says also if you take Palmolive dish soap put some in a bowl of water and put it around your kennels with a light bulb hanging over it they will be drawn to it and will drown. Swears it works never tried it. Mike next week looks like it will be plenty cool enough for you only in the 70's Mon and Tue. Love it! Have a nice day all Linda

Morning everyone. Linda I will be glad when it comes. Rex how you doing today? TD I could guess how you are doing. Tired. Can't imagine sitting in a truck driving that much. I did back in the 90's. But not now at my age. Did you hear the latest on the news? We now have summer gas and winter gas. They were talking about the price of gas coming down on the news this morning. The said it should drop 30-40 cents cheaper cause we were going into the winter gas now. I don't think my truck knows the difference between the two. What will these so called idiots come up with next.

Mike, They always have some excuse for gouging people on gas. What they don't get out of you in gas in the winter they make up for with propane. I can remember paying 49 cents for propane this winter they were wanting to contract for $2.31. By the time you pay for your house a million times over (real estate tax) and pay for propane and gas you can't afford to go anywhere anyway. I don't know how some elderly on fixed income do it. Hopefully we will keep our health so when the medical bills don't get payed they take our property too. Right now have insurance but if TD would lose his job SCREWED!

Posted by Mike Milam on 08-31-2011 06:56 PM:

Linda yes and now they are asking for another rate increase. CIPS or AMEREN just don't know when to quit. If everybody refuse to pay their bill for one month what are they going to do. Shut everybody off. People in this country is afraid of everything. I can remember pay .28 for gas for your car. I worked at a gas station back in High School and that is what people were paying back then. State of ILLINOIS is worst state you can live in as for as paying taxes and having Governors going to prison. It is a joke in this State.

Seen Gut today on his "CHUCKTOWN" job. That job your doin I wouldn't have it for nothin, but you sure were cute in your little hat you looked like a little mexican bandito Santa Anna himself. But I guess it all pays the same but that would be a boring job. How is everybody weathering the storm? Talked to an old farmer at China King last Saturday he said they are going to put triple tires on his tractors and combine so they don't fall through the cracks in the field. TD

Mike, you are right if everybody would stand up things in this country would get changed but to many people scared or don't care. Rex I don't know if you were referring to me about the Indian doing the rain dance but I am part Indian and it ain't working for me either. Momma might have smoked a peace pipe made of corn cob in her time but evidentally she didn't teach me the rain dance to well. However I do know the war hoop pretty well just ask TD when he makes me mad. Linda
