I coudn't agree more. It's ruining college ball. Now any freshman that can score 10 points a game thinks he's an allstar and is NBA ready.

The only fans that can't see this is Kentucky fans.

I couldn't agree more, every once in a while u get a John wall, Kevin Durant, or Anthony Davis. But it's not to often, I think they should at least be required to get a 2 yr associate if they take the scholarship.

I think they just need to do away with the age requirement. The special ones should be able to go from hs to nba. It would save the university's a lot of time and make it easier on there programs recruiting and so forth.

I agree with you. I have nothing against talented ball players wanting to make there dreams come true but hate what it's doing to college ball.
I love the attitude of college players that have the desire for the team and want to improve and few that have the one and done attitude have that.

What's the graduation % on the kids that leave early that go back to get their degree once they don't pan out in the NBA?

http://www.newsnet5.com/news/intera...raduation-rates Wisconsin, the other top-seeded team in the tournament, graduated only 40 percent of its players during the time period.

I'm against one and done, I think it should be freedom to go strait to work if that's what you choose. I'm not smart enough for college but I am smart enough not to pass up a guaranteed million dollar job to go to school for 4 years to get a 50,000 dollar a year job.

I'd love to see players stick around 3-4 yrs, but the nba is going to have to step it up! Can't blame any college for going after the most talented kids, but that's what they are at 18!

Congrats to Duke

Ty Jones carried Duke in the 2nd half. I seen the kid play about 10 times when he was in High School at Apple Valley, Mn. Never gets out of control usually pass first but have seen him take a game over & shot the lights out, but team player first, started on varsity when he was in 8th grade. Duke got a lot of help off there bench, Wis. simply ran out of gas, nobody moving without the ball, a lot of there shots were short of the rim, Decker never really got going. I didn't see any real great prospects in the final four that could really make an impact in the NBA next year. I like big Frank from Wis. as he's got some big time moves & can shoot from downtown, also. Most of the other big players are to one demensible, strictly low post players, dime a dozen. I don't think the big fella from Duke is ready, all I've ever seen him shoot was a layup or slam dunk over smaller players. C.R.

Thumbs down

I have been a Kentucky Wildcat fan for over 50 years and love them to death never miss a game on tv but would not give a dime to go fight the traffic and see them play.

I know ever thing about ever player back to grade school by research if possible but i am fed up with this one and done bull crap.
Makes coach Cal look good and gets the players quick money but just change the rule back to if you are good enough to play pro.go as a freshman if not stay longer than one year.

A one and done is just what Bo Ryan said rent a player for six months on campus and give me my nba contract and see you later.
I think the players and fans would enjoy their teams more and have more to look forward too with more than a bunch of six monts players representing their school i don't care what coach cal says he has said it so much i think he believes it himself.JMO.

You are exactly right Carl.

I believe Coach Cal goes for these one and dones knowing that talent alone can win him 20 plus games every year without having to actually coach.

Thanks to Cal and his methods any freshman that is good or thinks he's good in gone. It not only hurts college but it hurts the NBA also. Several big headed freshman that aren't half ready walking onto the floor.

Look at the teams that win NBA rings every year. None have young talent. Young talent sells tickets but doesn't win games.

Not just coach cal guys.. Ku had two top 5 picks last year... Coach cal would have been in top 5 all year with those two players... Coach K just won the whole thing starting 3 one and done players.... Its just that coach cal started going for the one and fone before any other bigtime coach... He changed college ball is what he did!!!!!

About the one and done kids. Why give them a scholarship if they are only staying 1 yr.

silver has talked about raising the draft age to 20. I think this would be tremendous for both the nba and college basketball. This gives the college teams two years to prepare their players. This would help a lot of teams on the defensive end. It is apparent that teams such as KENTUCKY, duke, and Kansas have offensive power. But what about defense? Yes I do understand that KENTUCKY was ranked in top 3 in defensive efficency, but look when they played the best offensive efficient team in the country, that resulted in a final four loss. On the other side of things how often do one and done rookies make a huge impact in their first season??? Sometimes they do such as Davis or Durant. But the majority don't, I feel that it isn't the problem of physically ready for the nba, rather its mentally ready.

Andrew Wiggins really looked great for the Timberwolfs! I didn't know much of him coming out of Kansas, but he can create shots, & score. Working on his 3 point shots, great kid playing on a bad team! I thought that the Henderson kid from Kty. played great against Wis., pretty much kept them in the game, I belive the two brothers are sophmores, exp. seems to help. C.R.
