the bunkhouse hunt is the friday and saturday following thanksgiving. The 23rd and 24th.
How is Shelly? I bet she is poppin. You should have some barn burners in that litter.
Timmy hates to leave home and work so far away but got to go when they call. He wouldn't miss the bunkhouse hunt for nothing in the world except for work and or his girlfriend.LOL
I know he is going to get real home sick this time around because of kill season and the hunt at Tims and Pauls.
Heck I'm going to be home sick for him!!!!!! He's my huntin buddy!

Roy,
With the state imposed break in hunting in Kansas I guess you are working on those MO. coon. Talked to Timmy yesterday and it sounds like he will be leaving Penn. and going to NY state where there is more damage. He may be looking for someone to take him out for a couple short hunts, he said that he wanted to check out some of the power up that way. See ya at the Bunkhouse........Tim

Talked to Bill Kaeneal the other day he has been huinting some with Mark Heafner's Smoke pup. Bill says that she is really turning the crank. Bill says he may be taking home a Smoke pup for himself from the Bunkhouse Hunt...........Tim

Marks pup

Iv'e heard some really good things about her. The littermate pups to Marks pup are all doing awsome. We have made the same cross again and they should be born around Christmas. The Drizz female that they are out of is a reproducer. I'll post her ped later today.

The Wendy cross is looking pretty awsome too.

Still have the 4 pups out of the Pop A Top female, 2 males and 2 females. I'll post their ped later also.

Season opens tonight

Ole Smoke has some young dogs to train!!!

Opening night has the advantage of taking a coon or leaveing it for seed. Allways try and leave the big ones, they seem to have the skill to surive allready. Allways thought the kittens had the odds stacked against them anyway. I will drop a coon for a young dog if they do a good job and some times a pat on the head is enough!

Smoke and Robin will get one now and then just to keep them tuned. I know they will tree a bunch but with this drought I'm thinking that the coon are haveing a tuff time surving as it is. My goal is to take just enough to tune the old dogs and train the youngsters.

I think that she will get a little more ticked up with a few more coon down to her.LOL
She is pretty light colered comming from Drips side. Bomb Boy and Hic would make a good pair.
We decided that if Taylor couldn't hunt her right now we would. She had only seen one coon before that night and she is all natural. She opened ahead of Robin but Robin got the tree on her. Hic will make a really nice hound you will just need sun glasses to look at her.LOL

Kill season

is in full swing and the hunting has been good. Smoke and Robin are treeing every coon in the woods and we got a year old Smoke pup turnning it on.

I have way too many dogs to hunt with Timmy being gone. They each get a turn every other night. Need to just work on the young dogs for now and then when the hunting gets tuff this Jan. they will be ready to learn something from the old dogs.

Talked to Timmy and he has been working in the Bronks. Makeing a living but he sure wants to come home and hunt.

The Bunk House hunt is this weekend and I can't wait to see every body and catch up on old freindships.

"PR" Mad Dog Lady Leggs

Hunted Leggs tonight. Treed a woven wire fence then she beat the coon to the tree and I kicked her on and she circled around and treed the same tree again and had the coon the whole time. I just missed seeing it the first time. Leggs worked up a rough track and did a very good job of getting this coon treed.
I pulled my back out and called it a night.

Leggs is a half sister to your Shelly dog. Leggs is GrNtCh Wacker X GrNtCh Jazz cross.She just turned two but hasn't been hunted very much till we got her. Paid a buddy to hunt her a month for us and she is going to be a good little dog. Gets an indenpent streak in her once in a while which is good. We put her in three hunts and she has a 1st place win. This kill season will make a dog out of her.
We like her.

Happy Thanks Giving

to every one. I thank the Lord for all his Blessings that He has given us this year. With out Him we could not accomplish any thing. He has given us some mighty gifts to enjoy as we serve Him.

Lance, sorry to hear that Tommy is not going to make it. I was looking forward to meeting him, and see his dogs.

Hunted Hic by her self last night. This was her first time alone in the woods. She hunted out really good. Struck a track and ran it to a big den tree. Second dump she ran the track backwards about 2oo yrds and got it figured out all on her own and then worked it 600 yrds down the creek. Made a lose on the big water and got across to tree on another den. Didn't see a coon but I was satisfied with her effort. She learned to heal on the way back to the truck! That was an accomplishment on it's own!!haha

Sure do miss Timmy not being with us this Thanks Giving. Really miss him in the woods too!

Big Surprise

Sherrie and I got a BIG SUPRISE today for Thanksgiving, Timmy came home from working out east. He showed up just as we all sit down to eat. It's good to have family all together to give thanks for what we have.

Guess Timmy will be at the BunkHouse Hunt after all!!!

it was a blast hunting with smoke and timmy i really like timmy hope we can stay in touch smoke was really nice also it was really nice to see him go but i wish him and zeb would of stayed off the creek lol those to hunted well together and i just injoyed the company in the woods

Rob, Timmy said he enjoyed the hunt with Zeb. Hope to make it up that way and hunt with you later this winter.

Tim, Hic is still doing good and makeing the trip each night with the old man. Timmy got three tonight and said she did great. She sure does hate a coon.

Got a call from Mark Brown and he said that his sons Smoke pup is coon crazy. They are just starting to hunt now that deer season is over. They are really pumped about how natural this pup is.

Today I got a call from a guy wanting a pup. To make a long story short, this guy got my number from an ad and was looking for a pup. As we talked he told about hunting with a guy that had a pup that was Mad Dog bred and was the most natural starting pup he had ever seen. Come to find out he had been hunting with Scott Brown and was talking about Scotts Smoke pup. Scott is hunting NtCh Mad Dog Little Lou for us right now and this guy said that in his books she is a coon treeing machine. Any way he had no idea that we were the ones that Scott got his pup from and he wants to get a Smoke pup sometime next week.

I'm on midnight shift all week and Timmy is pouring the heat on Smoke and the pups hunting ever night. That and tuning on ole Smoke to get ready for the Battle of the Breeds Dec. 7th and 8th.

I think just about every one that has got a pup from us has called and talked about how impressed they were with their pups. Some are showing to be treeing on hang ups and they are only 15 weeks old. One guy told me he can't turn his loose because it will take off hunting all by it self.

The pups that are a year old are all turning into nice dogs that are coon crazy and have big drive motors to them. Hope they all get their chance.
