GrNiteCh GrCh Bullet II's Code Blue Cricket

I have been fortunate to have been able to be able to buy GrNiteCh GrCh Bullet II's Code Blue Cricket. Jason Stufflebean is credited with making Cricket what she is today. I spectated on a cast with Jason at Autumn Oaks a couple of years back and she is a good one in my opinion. She had won the slam hunt down there the night before. Jason sold Cricket a few years back and she ended up making her way down south. The plan is to make a cross on her before she makes her way up here to raise the litter. There are some nice stud dogs down there and we have decided to breed her to GrNiteCh GrCh "PR" Smokey River Tramps Shadow in Mississippi. Thanks to Terry at Great Lakes Pet Transport on helping line up the ride for Cricket from Georgia to Mississippi. Both Shadow and Cricket have done some winning in the hunts and we believe this should be a nice cross if all goes as planned.
We have a cross or two planned for Floyd and one we would like to make with Bocephus this year also if everything works out.

Hunting-Shadow X Cricket

Hunted Rock Ann and Jimmy last night for a couple of drops. We cut Ann and Jimmy and pointed them right so they went left. They crossed a Creek and circled back around. Both got struck and I could see on the Garmin Ann was already starting to look up and Jimmy went in another 150 yards. Ann fell treed and we waited to see if Jimmy was going to back her and he did not. He is starting just like Sledge did and now his independence is starting to show. He is 9 months old now. We went into Ann and she was treed up a tall pine. We could not get him to look at first and after we cut her back into Jimmy we put the red light on and could see the eyes. Ann went into where Jimmy was and they ended up on a large fallen tree that had another tree over to a smaller tree and they had another one up. I guess Jimmy is getting to the point where we are going to need to hunt him alone now.

Thanks, I think the Cricket and Shadow cross should be nice. Both good looking top end dogs that line up on the Spud and Jean cross. Lots of Bullet and Jet V in there also. We will keep our fingers crossed. I am sure some will make their way down into Mississippi.

When Cricket came to my attention it did not take a lot of time to make the decision. She has done a lot of winning in a short period of time. I had hunted with her years ago and the Bullet females are sure easy to like. She also has a fair amount of Jet V back in there along with some Spanky and the old Warren's Blue Streak dog through Moon. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Thank You for all of your efforts to get this done also. Hopefully in early July we will have a nice Shadow litter on the ground. I have heard from many how nice of a dog Shadow is and this should make a nice cross.

I have had a few guys call and inquire about breeding to Floyd when he comes south to Alabama. Hopefully we will get some nice coon treeing gyps bred to him in the near future.

GrChNtCh Pr Southern Blue Hardwood Cotton is in heat now down in Alabama. She should be back in heat around late November or early December. Floyd should be down here in at Southern Bluetick Kennels and hopefully be bred to Cotton. Cotton has 3 wins towards GrNtCh and I plan to have her finished before she comes in heat again. Im excited about making this cross!

I think this will be a real nice cross Darren. Floyd is enjoying the warmer weather and is looking good.

It is extremely hot here in Alabama. 93 degrees today and it will be in the mid 80's tonight. I have finally began to get after some decent tracks but it sure ain't been fun going to them. I have just started cutting loose in the cutovers since I end up there anyway with the blackberries. I'm going to hit it tonight. Floyd is still up in Wisconsin with Scott and I am looking forward to making some crosses on him this fall. Cotton and Dolly are both in heat but Cotton should be going out. Both should be in heat again this fall. I have had several calls interested in breeding as well. Let us know if we can help!

I had a very nice fellow call about breeding to FLOYD this fall. He has a nice female that he is hunting in the hunts now and should be NTCH soon. She is out of a GrNtCh sister to my Cotton gyp (out of LOGAN x BELLE ) and her sire is the Lug dog that is Bullet bred. Should be some nice pups from this cross.

I talked to Terry Tibbs last night and he was telling me about a super nice female that is out of Floyd's littermate brother. Sounds like reproducing nice hounds is running in the family!! I've got high hopes for some crosses on Floyd this fall. Terry has bought a littermate sister to Cotton that is a nice coondog. He is thinking about crossing her on Floyd this fall.
