Joey Allen told me he don't remember it but remember if a club had a problem a feild rep would start showing up at their hunts. I told Allen I would be carefull about what I say so I will but doggone it we need some changes its like fighting a bull elephant with a BB gun. I think ukc is just playing it safe letting the $$$$ kcs fight it out and unless my figures are wrong ukc is making a ton of money just like it is so why change they by the time you pay the hunt packet and $2.00 a dog they are getting more money than the $$$ hunts for the same amount of dogs. Plus redgistration fees and performance heck of a deal and I don't even get to vote at least I got to vote Obama out and trump in and I love the Russians lol.

Mr Tar, if Mr Gingrich were smart he would make you a field rep and then you would be part of the problem. That is what happens when you get people "involved". I think that field reps are appointed by Mr Gingrich and not voted on. And I think that they are appointed for life. But I don't know what the qualifications are.

Just the way I remember it but my clutch could be slipping a little bit lol. But most of the bigger hunts and zones the feild reps down here had most of the moh duties if you had a problem at a club you went to them first why ? Most of the time they knew the individual and their personality and that goes a long ways in solving problems seems to me when a club wanted to plan a bigger hunt if they didn't have the experience the feild rep would give them guidance and if he thought it was a bad idea he would tell them me and Joey have seen a time at the Texas state hunt officers from all the clubs in Texas would be there with their yellow Texas state board member tee shirts on to make sure the hunt went well and they did not get paid the did it for the love of the sport 300 plus dogs see it has got to get more organized if the kc is not interested you do it yourselfs are those times over I think so !! But here is were I am at I am willing to work and work hard to fix things buuuuuut if the kc shows no interest don't come asking for help later because I got selective hearing lol.

No increase in entry fees just the program fees that have been the same for many years. I keep meticulous records of how much I spend and it's unreal.

UKC provides an easy way to save hundreds with a little forethought and they come back asking for more.

did you pay up and nominate the whole litter at birth ? how much was the average pup earnings for your litter ?did you get a return on your investment ?how much is the nationwide average $ amount won by a dog that has won 8 hunts to make a grand night champion ? what is the average earnings for a p. p. litter nation wide that was paid up by the breeder ? where are all the grands. at at the local hunts that should be showing up for p.p. money ?staying at home cause they cant break even hauling them and paying entry fees . lol they haul the grands to $.k. c.s instead where they can run a state and national race and get a return for the money they spend . people should be asking for improvements to the p.p.

I can understand people who are just starting in the hunts not understanding the need for changes, but people who have been doing this for years and watched attendance & performance checks annually decrease not wanting improvements stumps me..

[Yes, exactly. I never knew what to do when I wanted to register my pup. Too late for this dog.

I am not sure UKC is interested in the performance program.
I have several people that ask me questions when they are registering their pups. Several people in the past month had their paper work filled out and did not know that they had to put a note and send in an extra $30 for to get their pup in the program.

How hard could it be to put a place on the back of the Registration form to put and x and send in $30 or $100 dollars if your between 6 months and one year.
Still haven't found the form.
I wonder how many people register performance pups thinking they are in the performance program only to find out they are not, because they didn't send extra money. I know most people won't send in a $100 if they miss it the first time.

Here is a conversation I had with the registration dept. about 4 months ago.

I wrote: Here is what it says on your website.
Steps Involved

Nominate a Performance Sire
Breed to a Performance Sire
Nominate the litter
Permanent register & nominate the individual dogs
Go to UKC Licensed Nite Hunt events to earn Performance Points

Ok I have a performance Sire.
I have some puppy papers here to send in and I don't see on the papers where to permanently nominate them for the performance program.

Is that a separate form you fill out?

UKC wrote: Yes. It's called a Application for Permanent Nomination.

ME: Can you point out where that form is. I can't seem to find it on your website. Thanks

UKC: You don't need that form. You can just send in a note with your papers stating that you are including the fee to nominate the dog for the Performance Program.

Me: One last question. I appreciate all you do on here so I apologize for all these questions. The last pup I registered I miss registering it as a performance pup until the price got to
100 bucks because I thought I did. Also on your papers it is a little confusing because you use the term performance pedigree which is something totally different. Many people think that is for the Performance Program also.

What is the cost for permanent nomination and at what age does it change. That is a helpful fact.

It is $30.00 to do the permanent nomination until the dog turns 6 months of age. When the dog turns 6 months of age the fee goes up to $100.00. If the dog has not been permanently nominated into the Performance Program by the time it turns a year of age it then becomes ineligible for nomination.

I really think a lot of people are not getting their pups in the program because of the confusion to do so.

I did not pay up the whole litter, just the two I kept and I shot both of them. I dont believe anything from that litter ever earned a point.

Well that's your problem right there! Burn all those records.
I have never had any expectations of earning money in this sport from anything, pups, winnings or dog sales.

I'm fortunate to have made some final 4s & sell a few hounds for profit so I'm still around $3800+ but its my hobby & if I never make another cent I'm ok with it. I'm not suggesting increases to make a ton of money, just to help the hunters, the clubs & the sport. I hunt with the young guys a lot trying to get a truck ticket or SS money won & they just don't feel the UKC hunts are worth their efforts anymore..

Posted by rob thompson on 07-19-2017 08:38 PM:

Well that's a different monster all together, I take the neighbor kid hunting and he is really getting interested in the hunts and asks rule questions all the time when I explained the difference in rules he asked why anyone would wanna hunt ukc! Now he just asks about pkc rules!lol

performance

I sure didnt know we had to send in more money to enroll pups. So now that we did not see this when we registered our 8 yr old sons hound we have to pay$100???

Also why do clubs give out plaques to hunt winners at RQE's but Bench show winners get just a win slip? we pay just about the same entry fee, spend same amount in fuel..And this happens at Purina Events

Is there a list of field reps for each state?

Posted by Richard Lambert on 07-24-2017 02:05 PM:

I believe that field reps cover an area and not a state. There are about 8 or 10 of them for the whole country. Wendall Bond And Tim Gilchrist are my primary reps. Doug Cundiff and Elbe Neet are my secondary reps. Go to a Zone hunt in your area and your local field rep will be there as MOH.

No money

Why I like UKC, only place where your papers mean something.I have hunted 50 years, cause I enjoy it!
Nobody is at fault for a fading sport, times change.
Bad enough ,some people won't be able to handle more money....
They are worhless to sell without UKC papers.

What papers mean=a family tree someone paid $20+ to look at occasionally.
Sports fade & times change. A hunter should help slow it down every chance he gets..
If people can't afford an additional $20-50 yearly they likely can't afford to own or properly care for an animal.
Papers are important when selling animals, typically the more you have the better..

.

That one is 100% completely bogus. It has not one thing to do with what I can afford, it has everything to do with what I chose to pay. I'll pay $30 to gamble on a 6 month old pup. I wont no way pay $50-80 to gamble on that pup. And none of this has anything at all to do with my being able to afford ownership or proper care of my dogs.
