No, I don't mind explaining at all...if you were there I really think you would agree. The entire hour and fifty minutes was spent by the dog that sounds to you like he was "better than the others" moving a grand total of about 40 yards....still want to breed to that???? The owner fed and bragged about him enough...he might still have something frozen you can try....

This is a very good point...two of the best dogs I ever saw were never competition hunted. Both were females, one a walker, the other a bluetick. When they barked you were soon going to be looking at a coon...not a hollow, not a den.
Usually though, if the dog is fantastic enough, people know and it doesn't end up getting passed up entirely.
Many moons ago a local guy named Gordon Gilroy had a dog named Yadkin River Crowder. Crowder was a nite champion and after he made it I don't think Gordon hunted him in anymore UKC hunts. In fact, if I remember right he took Crowder to the Grand American a few times and one of them they didn't get to hunt because they were delayed in snow. Crowder was Sackets daddy...Sacket was Sacket Jr's daddy and he had Rat Attack. We never thought back then that anything like that would happen...Crowder didn't really have a lot of puppies, but, point is he was a good one and he was bred enough.

He is, it's a fact...he has been looking for a nice blue dog for a few months now...he wont admit it though. That walker already had a name...Rocketman. I cant hardly change it now...if he gets on a deer you think he's got a rocket motor strapped on his butt!!!!!!

That's what I should have named Hammer. He's so fast he beat another coon to the tree just last night. Me & Jones stood waited on it for a while but it never showed it's face "I think it was intimidated". LOL

Jason,there will always be guys out there that don't want anybody knowing it took there dog 20 hunts to make night champ.Them guys carry a around a trash can full of excuses why they loose.LoL.When in reality it's 90% there fault that they don't have enough dog power on the end of there leash.Jmo

ive hunted with some nice dogs that didnt win.. it shure wasnt becuz the dog was trash... ive seen the buddy system beat dogs.. an ive seen guys that have only been in a few hunts make bad calls... that has nothing to do with the dogs ability.. the dog gets you to the tree.. he cant control how the score card is handled...

an in my eyes that means to the true hunter an sportsman.. they are an orginization that prides on having to have plus points to win... not minus an not cicle .. an a true sportsman will take his minus when he draws it.. not make excuses... you canot blame a dog that was in 20 hunts an hasnt been finished becuz he has a bad handler.. an you canot reward a dog thats been in 20 hunts an has a slick handler.. or the buddy system... that is y i am a firm believer in the way its been for alot of yrs,, hunt with the dog an see how he performs for yourself..

if it is said that the dog will never miss then when i hunt with it. i should see a coon everytime..
