Thanks, I bet that pup is going to be a looker!

Years back a friend of mine had a male whose name was Dual Gr. Red Oak Sting. In my opinion the best looking walker dog i have ever seen. Came real close to winning some major shows but could also tree a truck load of coons when the sun went down. I hunt black dogs but im not color blind. Well actually i am but you know what i mean. lol

Dual Gr. Ch. 'PR' Duane's Red Oak Sting

Sting was out of Nt. Ch. Gr. Ch. 'PR' Noeske's Red Oak Boss and Ch. 'PR' Mears' Finley River Bitty.

That litter produced three very good coondogs. One went to Lousiana (Rap) and got killed off a tree by a gator. Mine (Smokey) lost his voice and we sold him, which was a huge mistake. Sting died at Duane's place and is buried out behind my Dad's.

Boy they are both young in that picture. lol Sting really filled out as he got older. Grant you and your dad have always had good looking dogs that were dual purpose.

Sting was probably 10 or 11 months old in that picture. Sting was born in August 1989. This would have been the Red Classic in 1990...or 1991. I'm guessing 1990.

dang it was that long ago that Drifter placed in the world hunt. How time flies doesnt seem like it could of been that long ago. Drifter was a real nice coon dog.

Time sure does fly, Danny. You've always had a good coondog in your kennel, too, but Zip will always be my favorite.

Drifter sure was SHARP Grant!

Posted by Grant Noeske on 06-01-2015 07:52 PM:

Ring and Kiss were pretty sharp, too, Jerry...and bred/whelped both of them at your place. Kiss is a bit grey in the face now, but still gets the job done. She and her daughter, Nutmeg, are at Dad's place until they die.

Here she is, Jerry. Loud, houndy, bawl mouth on track. Few locates and a steady, loud chop when she's confident. Likes to have a coon, but I haven't been able to hunt her hard enough alone. Going to try to fix that and then get her in some hunts.

Thanks, Matthew.

Here's another one of my all-time favorites. Nt. Ch. Gr. Ch. 'PR' Jackson's Finley River Tom, owned by Lonnie Mears. Tom was killed at a young age, but Lonnie told me once that he was a heck of a coondog. The stud fee looks pretty good, too!

She's nice looking Grant. Her head reminds me of her grandma's.

I'm a bluetick man and have seen a lot of beautiful walkers and even owned a few when I first started into coon hunting. I think some of the best looking hounds come off the clover bloodline. IF I was to switch breeds i would be feeding one of them
