Living

I am glad to see you are still among the living. Missed you have a great day. Dave P.S. Did you see the Ranger pup on the wood and in the water? He's going to be a Goodin.

I saw that Dave. I was running the weed eater one evening and had one of mine come up and start pulling on my pants leg. I like the way these Ranger pups act for sure.

Ranger has got the walker guys attention. I was even told I wasnt allowed to go to Ohio this year for pound season. Congrats on the htx win last night. He must have put on a show.

Passed another hunt test with Ranger last weekend. One more to go. At 9 years old and pulling him out of the box after a long lay off in the woods, he hasn't looked too bad and is still getting the job done. Planning on continuing to hunt him some and try to get him back in reasonable shape but these hills are kicking his butt some. We'll see where he is a month from now. The 5 females he has bred in the last six month have all had between 8 and 10 pups so he is definitely ok in that department too. I think hunting him some and keeping him in reasonable shape will help keep him around for awhile longer.

Ranger treed two singles last Saturday to finish up his HTX certification. I had not been hunting him to make sure nothing happened to him before I had a chance to get pups off of him. Pulled him out of the kennel in September at 9 years old after not hunting him all year and he was able to pass 3 out of 3 hunt tests. These hills may have kicked his butt some but he was able to get the job done.

Dollar ( Ranger/Lou Pup )

Dollar ( First Coon )
I love this Dollar pup. He's a hard barking tree dog with a real clear chop. I think he got the best of Both dogs. He's not the only pup in this litter that has a desire to climb on the hard wood and he is real bold. I have reports of other pups doing good.

Head shot of Dollar. He has a Beautiful head and nice long ears like his Sire and Dam. Nuff Said. Dave

This is Sadie. She Trees too. I understand John has been getting videos of a sister that is a hard tree dog also. I believe this is going to be a special litter of pups. Dave P.S. I wish Tim ( Mad Dog )was with us to see this cross move forward as we talked about it and Tim was on board with it. He thought it would work as I do or I wouldn't have made it.

Tim

He was certainly on board with it and was excited to see it made. He really liked Ranger. Lou sounds like a very nice hound. They should certainly compliment each other. I remember when he brought Ranger to Winter Classic. The ones Tim drew were very complimentary of Ranger too. Maybe Robbie Brooks will want to try something in the future. He raised Ranger's mom and was real high in the cross Ranger was out of. Nice lookng pups and I enjoy following you guys.

Real nice looking pups Mr. Woofter. I have three litters out of Ranger at the house that I will be working with in the future. Good looking, bold, active pups. I have high hopes for Ranger pups.

Lance, Tim was influential in me getting Ranger up here. He wanted to see some Mad Dog blood get up in this part of the country. We felt that with the other bloodlines in Ranger that he should cross well with a lot of other bloodlines. I have spoken with several respected bluetick followers that have hunted with Ranger when Tim campaigned him. Almost all of them say the same thing about Ranger and that he is a Coondog. I have hunted him and although he is past his prime I see why they give the description of Coondog to him when they describe him in that simple term. He is about as balanced as you could ask for.

Good to hear that you are liking your Ranger/Lou pup. Tim Vaughn said that Ranger pups started very young and I know that Lou brings a lot to the table as well. Hope your pup continues to progress and makes a reals remainder.

Check out the video BJ Davis posted on Facebook under Ohio Valley Bluetick Kennel of his Ranger/Lou pup split treed. He said it was her third split tree so far and has had four coon knocked out to her. She would only be around 4 1/2 months old I'm guessing.
I have showed a coon to my 3 month old Ranger/Snap and Ranger/Lexy pups and they definitely like the taste of coon fur. Tim Vaughn said Ranger pups started young.

Pups

Nice pups John.My Ranger pup treed as hard as I've ever seen a pup tree on a caged coon the other night. She is hyper and I'm sure going to test me at times but very nice acting pup.Im sure there will be some nice Ranger young dogs around out of your litters and Ranger/Lou cross. Good luck and good hunting . Darian Dillion

Dollar

I love my Dollar pup. He fires up easy. Hard treeing pup. Sadie is quite in the kennel but fires up over a coon. Has a real good mouth. Dave williams has a pup that looks just like Darian's and it's as hard a treeing pup as you will see. This is going to be a nice cross I believe. Dave

Lou Tuesday night. Lou is by way of Zeb/Sky. I know where 3 sisters to Lou are that are real nice dogs and one male that is as hard a tree dog as Lou. These dogs are pressure tree dogs. I love Zeb females. If you check the PED on Good Jobe dogs they are mostly out of Zeb females. I Love these pups out of Ranger and think they will please their owners. I am Happy John brought Ranger to Ohio. Thanks John. Dave
