Oh I gotcha. I'm in Franklin County but since we can't run bear here we hunt in Craig most of the time and sometimes in Giles. Went and got treed tonight. Biggest coon I've seen in my life alive.

Took the neighbor and his boy tonight. Dropped diamond out at a mountain pond struck 200 yards in and took it about a mile. Drive around to get about 300 yards from him, walked in and had a big den tree. Loaded up and went to another gated logging road and sent him down it. Struck about 150 yards along a creek and fooled with it a bit until a pack of yotes chimed in and I grabbed him up. Another buddy had called me before I left home and said him and his father inlaw were goin to ride out for a drop at some point so I hollered on the truck radio for them and they needed help bad. They had casted down a holler and dogs had struck and took it away fast and out of hearing and GPS range. They were still away from their truck so we rode to the top of the mountain and picked the dogs up at a mile from me and almost. 2 miles from where they struck it at and GPS showed treed. They figured out the best way in to them which is a super tough nasty steep area. My neighbor and I were able to move trucks around and went below them on another road so that they had a 1 mile hike downhill instead of back up. When they finally made it out they reported that there tree was a nice size den also. Tis the season for coon rut! I guess.

Friday and Saturday Nights

A friend and I cut loose Friday night up a Stream bed, one of his females struck and went up ridge with his male and another female striking right in and turning up the mountain. My male went in and cut left. His dogs treed. When we went to tree it was slick, chased dogs off and listened as my male located and treed about 250 yrds down the ridge. Went to him and he had the coon. His dogs struck again and treed in a den. Picked dogs up and went to next place. Dropped dogs and his three struck and took out across the mountain, went about 950 yrds and treed. Started to the tree and my male came back. He wont run a bear, and I new what we were in for the rest of the night. Treed him 4 times and finally after about 3 miles from where they struck him they treed for the 5th time and we were able to sneak in, got about 50yrds from the tree when he piled out but we were able to catch the dogs. 1 dog required a couple of staples. I running them black shaggy's at night.
Saturday night was a lot better. 3 trees, 1st was a single, next was a den and 3rd tree had two looking down. Hopefully get out tonight.

Well shoot I know exactly where you're at. I've ended up treed in at the scout camp a couple times before but I had turned loose off stribling springs rd. there's a pile of bear in there we backpack a lot up around the top of north river during the summer. I coon hunt mostly in Deerfield and Churchville.

Last few weeks while Ive been on Christmas break I was bear hunting everyday, treed several, but mainly everything for the last two weeks has wanted to stop and fight dogs instead of go up a tree. The one we caught lat Friday is gonna e a dog slayer if he gets another 75-100 pounds on him. But school started back today and me and my buddies welcomed it in last night by turnin some dogs loose 900 yards and treein one out in the freezing cold. I'm hopin to get out again tonight if this wind slows down.

Well 28deg out, 4 dogs and 700 yds in treed a huge boar. Never hit another track the rest of the night but it wasn't for lack of try, dogs hunted great. Another good hunt in the books.
