Hi Jeff: It is -2 here right now. What is that female out of? I have been trying to find some cat track but it keeps snowing every day. Yesterday was the first day since the end of November that it did not snow. I only found a track by going where I knew there was a died deer and it did not look that good of a track. The fun part is you just have to drop Earl and he finds a track. He has a nose that I have not seen on a Bluetick in a long time. And he knows now to work a cold track. Earl is getting closer and closer and I am waiting for the yote to cross the road. The yote hits the road at 60 yards away. With the shotgun with BB shot the yote kept right on running jump in the truck and down the road we go. I am trying to get in front of the yote takes a left onto another road at the T yote keeps running down road back up catch up to yote drop Jordy, Booker and Dylan. The race is on Earl hits the road and catches up to the rest. Earl had run down the road 3 miles to catch up. It did not take him long and by the GPS they had caught the yote. End of story. What a hunt and it only lasted about 20 minutes.

Sounds fun. She is out of mad dog psycho sid and a female Russ Downing has she will run anything that lays a track big mouth and a hard tree dog from what I have seen. She went and found a dead coon I had laying by the garage and she dug threw the two feet of snow and went nuts over it this morning I had to cut her off with the fourwheeler to get her caught I was afraid she would frezze her lungs it was. To cold for me. She has my number and we just don't click together. I don't know much about the sid dog maybe you know more than me about him

They are going to be 10 weeks old. They will have three shots and wormed three times and the papers are send in but not back yet from UKC. These are going to be some good ones people so do not miss out on a cross I have been waiting for, for a long time. I keeping one of the female pups and she will be Jessie VI. I have owned and hunted this line of hounds for 35 years.

Another night of cold weather -18 without wind chill. wind chill -35. It does not look like we will be hunting until Wednesday or Thursday. I do not like to go hunting if the temperature is below zero just in case something would happen.

Posted by Jim Bartley on 01-07-2014 05:47 AM:

-15 here right now with wind chill -35. Coldest I think I have ever seen it done here. And I've seen plenty of below zero temps in my days.
