I think the guys doing this auction are trying to do a good thing. But, there should be a minimum bid on every dog. JMO

We all have our own reasons for bidding whatever we choose.

I currently own one female and shes 11 month and dont plan breeding in the next year or the year after that. I'm not bidding for breeding rights, i'd just rather see a dog covered than not covered.

It may not be a lot but its better than nothing.

I figure y'all would be referring to me. I just put a bid since ol cole didn't have a donation. I agree it is low but better than $0. I'm 14 and only got one dog and heck it's a male. I'm not doin it for free breeding.

I wasn't takin a poke at anybody personally esp a kid..just feel sorry for some including me lol..its a risk of sorts even breeding,and anything can happen to ur stud dog..I've seen them slip a disc in their back ect..I wouldn't let my dog out of the kennel for some of the bids..ivwas trying to help and do a good thing,but not sure it was the best decision..think im just guna donate the amt of my bid and withdrawl..

I understand all of that Mr. Sullivan. I just wanted you to know what I was doing before I got a bad name especially since I've only been doin it for a couple of years. I hate that people are using it for free studs but I hope you understand what I'm doing.

Guys

This is a donation it has no reflection on what your dog is worth or a insult to your breeding program. The WHIF program is receiving the money and it all helps I have personaly bought Stud Fees in the past and never used them but believed in the cause so I donated to it.

Please don't turn this post into a negative one if you feel your dog should have a reserve I wish it would have ben brought up before know.

SO!!! should I keep my mouth shut and not bid or what? I have $50 worth of bids now, some body outbid me and its theres. I get tired of reading this BS pissing and moaning!!!!!!!!!!

Me doth think someone protests too much ... the stud owners can put a minimum bid if they want , no need for anyone to put on their cape and jump in to defend a stud's honor when the money is going to a good cause and like others have said , alot of em' aren't being used anyway.

A lot of these studs I have never heard of. I was at bnt days. I asked a fellow houndsman to give me 3 names of studs out there directly out of Nute. The man gave me 3 names then some more came up Dillinger was never mentioned. My guess is he might not even no of Dillinger. Brian S can you tell me how many pups Dillinger has and how many are titled or doing and out standing job in the woods?

Never heard of Stovers get r done Willie how many pups does he have and how many are titled?

John has only been bred once,and has 10 pups.. carl meinhart had him and I guess liked him enuf to breed him to one of his females,and I have.been trying to find out how they are doing but can't make contact with anyone..he's turning 5 in abt a month,and his pups should be abt 1.5 years old...I've only had John since august of last year and havnt bred him myself yet..been working on his titles and havnt pursued it a whole lot..got 3 wins toward grand so far this spring..I don't have people knockin my door down to breed cause I'm just a nobody with a nute dog..lol..guess I'm guna have to go win a big one with him...just tryin to help the cause here..not alienate anyone..

Thanks for the info. It costs a lot of money and time to raise a litter of pups and it costs a lot more to breed to a stud that is unproven. I sure wouldn't slap someone in the face for trying my male dog for a $5 donated stud fee proven or unproven.

Andrew Jones thanks for your bid you show great sportsmanship and first class as a gentleman even at the young age of 14 yrs. old.
I agree with Swanny and EDF I have bought stud fees in auctions with no intent of using them because I believed in the cause and it was a good way to donate and put a bid on dogs that hadn't been bid on.. GGGgggrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
