He's been looking real good. The Woody pup I'm hunting split treed last night. Worked a hot track and put a young coon up. opened real good..He's got a HECK of a locate.. And when he learns to use his mouth.. Gonna be real nice, once he figures out what he is actually doing! Lol
It was exciting for me though

I've never heard Woody locate a tree, but I can tell you this pup's momma has a real, good, distinct locate. 3 to 4 long, squall-bawls when she comes on the tree, then a hard, smooth, steady chop on tree. No bounce, no chew, no running the wood. If they will let her she will just stand like a statue with both feet on the wood & tree. Real classy tree dog.

Dang Donnie, just reading it I had to get up and take some more pain pills!!! Now, think of turning 4 loose at the same time and none would back the other, and hunted that hard!!

We turned loose on an 8,000 acre ranch the other night.. I walked over 5 miles just to and from woody into 5 trees.. All had a coon.. Hunted 3 dogs that night.. Not a single tree together!

I updated my web site some. It now includes Woody on the redesigned home page. A few more hounds will be added soon as well as updated info.

Talked with Kevin Gilliam, he said a fella over in Arkansas has made his Woody pup a Nt Ch. He so said there is another that needs any win to be Nt Ch. These are from I believe his first few litters. Seems like his pups are now getting old enough to be showing up at more hunts.
Mine is looking pretty good as well, has treed a legitimate lay-up and a few others by himself while split from 2 other dogs. Has treed and totally missed, but he thought he was right..and has a thunderous mouth! Time will tell.

Might need to store some semen on Woody. The caliber of hounds in his lineage is becoming very rare within his mixture of bloodlines. Looks like a half dozen litters may be all he will get.
