Who was the member or are the Directors' meetings secret? Was there any discussion and a motion and vote to change the minutes?

I would rather not name names.....there was no motion, he just pointed out that the minutes were not accurate.

We should know what our elected officials are doing/saying in an official meeting. I don't see how the minutes could just be "changed" from the way the secretary read them?????

I couldn't agree more with you Richard.....I felt it was not right. But since I was NOT at Nationals meeting, I didn't know the exact wording of what was said other then what I have read on here SINCE the meeting occurred.

Please dont say the recording has been lost or deleted because that makes things sound even worse then they already do. If all meetings are recorded get the recording of last July out and what was done is done and get on with it.

Kelly , you & I have talked many times & you know how I stand on this issue. Like I've said before I wasn't there in July but I've been to every meeting since I've been on the board. I'm not to happy about all the drama going on about this date change. In the end the membership will be heard. I would also like for us all to come together as one & strive to better or breed.

If for any reason I see or feel that things are not according to our bylaws I will step down from the board.

Andy i just find it a little odd that you are the only board member willing to get on this post and keep us informed. This post has been up for several days it's a heated topic and yet none of the other leaders are getting on here and setting things sraight. That seems a little suspicious to me you would think if they weren't hiding anything they would be on here keeping things settled down.

I was at that July meeting and I know exactly what that motion was for and so does everyone else who took part in the discussion that followed before the vote. I was sitting in the middle of that building and I know most of the people who were in there and I can remember alot of the discussion about this and who voiced concerns. I have a hard time believing that anyone there stood up and argued that the motion was just to LOOK INTO changing the date....but an even harder time believing that a single man, no matter how influential....could talk the entire board into believing that the minutes stating the motion and vote were to CHANGE the date...was actually just to look into it.
There would have to be other board members who went along with that....wouldn't there?
If I have misunderstood anything you posted...please explain where I went wrong in my thinking. Thanks, Shane

I am not saying I don't believe that what you stated above didn't happen...what I should have said was its hard to believe that someone did what you said they did. That must have took some nerve...but then again...they were not doing it in front of the entire membership like Kelly did when he made the motion. I just don't understand how 1 man could convince the board to change the wording of minutes from the July meeting that from what you said, and the rest of us who were there who have posted on this thread, believe were right and accurate as to the motion as stated clearly by Kelly and that was to CHANGE the date. That is what we all voted on and it passed.

You are correct Shane......and the 1 member voiced the change that needed to be made. Being as I was NOT at the July meeting I did not say anything as I was not sure if what the correction being talked about was accurate. Many of the board that was at Southern Days stated they were also NOT at the July meeting.

I, by all means, agree 100% the fact that the one person should not have been able to change the wording. Now, since the meeting, I have found out the entire story and the exact words that My. Hyde has said. It angers me that this one person did this, as I feel they are going to be the ones that will gather friends and family to come to the meeting to ambush the change.

IF I had been at the meeting in July, believe me I would have said something in disagreeing with the correction that was made. I am a board member, who is still a "new" voice and tend to be overlooked when I say things. That is fine, I will continue to work hard to better the association. After all when you accept a position on the board, the requirements are laid out up front for everyone to know what is expected of them. If for some reason anyone has any chance that they can't fulfill these duties, then I feel they should step down until they are able to have more time to serve.

I've even made numerous calls to other board members about this. I've left messages & sent pm's with no response. Guess I will be on the chopping block perty soon. Jen can confirm that it is always childish behavior & very little respect to the new board members & there ideas .
I was told many , many times by a long time board member from South Carolina that it was going to be like this ,but I had to see for myself.

general meeting minutes.

I am not a board member but did serve 3years as a Trustee in the past. More importantly I am an active member ,I go to the meetings I offer help if I have time and I talk with other members about what might make the Association better. I was at the southern days general meeting the minutes were NOT read with the words" look into" added. Steve Keener also a new board member instantly new the wording was different than the ones just read at the board meeting and asked in front of everyone ." I thought the motion was to look into changing the date" to Steve's credit he at least noticed the difference and questioned it. At that time I spoke and stated what the correct wording of the motion . Not one person questioned what I said and the meeting went on from there. There are many people that can confirm this. I continue to believe that this will be straightened out because I know I am telling the truth about all of it.
One last point. After last Julys meeting Kitty called me to her desk and asked that I get the motion word for word for her . I wrote it down myself and left it with her. Believe me there were no words like "look into" on the copy I left.
I mention all of this not to cause problems but to concentrate in correcting this issue . It is all very simple ,lets first agree we will follow our own rules then lets get the motion correct. and this thing goes away no hard feelings. See ya in April at National Days 2015 or 2014

few more thoughts.

As I said way back at the beginning of this post . I feel responsible for some of this division in the Association but I wonder a couple things.
Why is it so hard to admit what really happened. Aren't we obligated to tell the truth.
Why do we go thru this kind of thing every time something new comes up.
Wouldn't it be a lot easier for EVERYONE to speak openly about the direction of our Association. I understand differences of opinion but can't we all accept what the majority of our members vote for. Lets get along and realize not every idea will be what we think is right. but lets not be afraid to try new things they just may be better.

This will work out ,it will all be fine as long as we all tell the truth.

Since it was voted on and passed. End of storie move on! If we cant get a date near the end of April. Then get it as soon as Possible. If that means waiting Ok. I am done beating around the bush and I am sure that my name will be run thru the mud.....and don't worry Andy, I will be right beside you on the chopping block too!!! The ONLY reason I did NOT say anything about the change was because I was NOT at the meeting in July!!! As Kelly said in his post....Steve Keener even made a comment of what he heard in the BOARD MEETING of the notes were commented on my Tim Bolin that they were not accurate and Kitty changed them, there was NO motion made.......and from the words of a higher up board member at the meeting last July there was some shady things and "stacking of votes" going on. Kind of want to say I was glad to have missed the petty drama but I now wish I wouldn't have as I would have stood up to point out this flaw, as I am not afraid to tell the TRUTH!!!! Honesty is the best option in EVERY SITUATION!!!

Further more, I have NO reason what SO EVER to lie!!! If you do not believe my words, then just continue on and look thru other post as OTHER BOARD MEMBERS are commenting about the change made by that 1 man.

Andy, would you or any others care to back me up in what I said???

Special Session!

After some things that transpired in Elizibeth, Ky. I was on the board and made many phone calls to call for a special mtg! I couldn't get one man that I called to challenge the "POWERS THAT BE"!
That is when I stepped down! There is no reason to wait until July!!! Call for a Special Emergency Session & get this handled! If those on the board don't want to have one, vote them out in July or ask them to step down. JUST A THOUGHT!

How long will this post have to be here until someone that was
"not in favor" of the date change ( and voted so) speaks up? Admits the wording at the July meeting was to "change the date". So far it appears that those that voted against changing the date are keeping quiet. Did I miss someone on here? Please correct me if I did.

I have all the respect in the world for the board & hope this was a honest mistake in the wording of the minutes . This should be a cut & dry issue & handled by the president. (( Case Closed )) The part I don't understand is the ones who can get on here a post of breeding , pups or there power house dogs but a issue comes up that is causing the board & association to look bad they are keeping silent .. I'm not calling anyone out but come on ((people on the board)) speak up. Practice what we preach about negative plublicty . This post could come to a stop with just a few simple comments answered.

Jen , keep doing your thing ! You did a great job with the Redbook & the hats for Southern Days were a hit.

I have to say that Andy you have many great points, of which (like mine) get over looked very often. Which tends to become frustrating. ....I think that the words NEW and CHANGE tend to take many out of their comfort zones. I am ALL for new ideas, if they don't work out then go back to our old way....BUT we will never know unless we TRY!!!

I do NOT know for a fact that Kitty even took Tim Bolin's words serious. As by what Kelly stated about Steve Keener questioning how the minutes in the general meeting were read as comparison to what the board meeting stated. With that being said, I know I was not the only one that heard the change was in fact said.....now I think that since Kitty did not read them in the general meeting with the corrections that were suggested the minutes may not have even been changed at all. I guess we will see when the minutes are mailed out to the members.....

I do not think their should be a RE-VOTE! The membership has spoken and they voted for a CHANGE! Whether or not you all agree with it, at this point does not matter, the majority has spoken! Remember we cannot nor will not EVER please EVERYONE!!!
