I know a few dogs that were titled in ukc for being a first strike second tree dog I don't know why some people get offended by this stuff and I've been to more hunts then people get me credit for because I'm young I don't know what I'm talken about when it comes to this. pkc was started basicaly for guys who had gotten barred from ukc but still wanted to comp hunt a kennel though few will admit it because can't nobody be honest because they are afraid of maken a dog look bad or people looken at their stud bad because so and so said this about this club etc there is good and bad in all kennel clubs just because that dogs a grand night does not mean he is a coon dog just a much as him being a champion in pkc means he a coon dog you can win a pkc cast with no coon being seen that night its designed to have a winner in every cast and someone sayen you can't is just lien to themselves

I HUNT UKC SIR AND HUNTED PKC ALSO MADE MANY GRAND NITES AND NITE CHAMPIONS I HAVE HUNTED AKC TOO NOT MUCH THAT I HAVE NOT DONE INTHE HUNTS EXCEPT WIN THE WORLD PLACED A COUPLE TIMES WAS IN THE FINAL 4 IN PKC PLOTT DAYS IN 02 NOTHING BIG

WHATS YHE DIFFERENCE

JUST THE DOG TRAINING SIR THATS ALL WERE ARE YOU LOCATED IM IN OHIO TOWARD INDIANA

i hunt from time to time with a guy who hunts plotts i love the dogs for their heart they have i give him hell sayen he cant title them dogs but he does and sells pups to alot of bear hunters i just like my good ole walker dogs although im not afraid to say it they are going to s&^% and its a shame lipper was a freak of nature to put it that way sad thing is there will never be a dog impact the breed like lipper or ten. lead because of the mind set people have ever since lipper came out it was if you wasnt hunting something that went back or out of lipper dog you wasnt gonna win or a house dog you wasnt gonna win then it went to sackett jr then rat etc im a firm believer if it aint broke dont fix it but it doesnt hurt to have a tune up from time to time to help the breed

Slobber mouth. I totally disagree with you on the Lipper dogs. You aren't old enough to have hunted with many but I have and owned some. House Clint was a much better dog and reproducer. I can say they were loud tree dogs but that's about all that I saw was good about his offspring. His grand sons were much better than sons or daughters. I guess It thinned the blood some. At the time Lipper hit the big time there really was much out there. That doesn't say much for the walker breed at the time. Just for the record .... I didn't like Sackett jr pups either.

If you don't think a PKC dog can tree a coon go for a hunt with the current champion Hardtime Awesome. Hunted many nights with him and Randy in the
mountains and saw a lot of coons. He is not ill or junky. Randy hunts hard and knows a coondog.

As far as the original question, I trained a female off of Elvis that was not ill but
obviously did not get her brains from his genes. I hunted with a male off of him that was a me too ill tree dog. Are they all ill? No but I have heard a lot of stories.

In my opinion a smart dog will not fight at the tree but will back off and stay out of range of the fangs. I love a dog to sit on its butt about eight feet off the tree and stay out of trouble. Most don't have those kinda brains anymore.

nc coonhunter if i hunted a dog that stayed 8 foot off the tree id send it on down the road not because it wasnt a coon dog i just cant stand a dog to do that i dont mind one moven around the tree given a mean dog its space or vice versa but it better be on the wood holding its own when i get there a dog that is up on the wood and will move around the tree to give a dog its space and to have its on space is just as smart as the dog treeing 8 foot off the tree but i believe the dog on the wood has more tree pressure then the 8 footer so therefore i want have dogs that get ran off the tree in my future breedings of that blood. everybody is allowed to hunt what they like i just wouldnt like a dog that does that.

Personally the roughness you guys speak of is coming from Elvis' mothers side via Maniac. You rarely hear of Rat dogs being rough and I have hunted against Maniac more the once in the day, He definately wasn't an angel. With that being said how many rough Swamp dogs have you seen ,Swamp and Elvis' mother were full brother and sister.

MAN TC!U sure can make a interesting post.This post has went way off topic.Only thing ive noticed about pkc guys is they dont like to go pleasure huntin with me more than once.LoL.I like to see a good hound i dont care what hunts they go to.If there a coondog ill be glad to say it.Ol Elvis sure was a smart dog and was good at treein coon.

I agree with Cody ,I liked pups out of Clint much better than Lipper or Lawyer.
