Thanks For all the support. Seems with the weather front that moved in, caused the dogs to really have to work to tree them coon. Most times are scores are more uniform. But I was real happy how the attendance was. Sat. entries were down from what we were hopeing, wether it was the RQE 3 hrs away or the weather and coon movement kept people away. i'm hopeing we can get the entries up on sat. nite next yr. Thanks again, Dave

Thanks and more!
Many, many thanks to all that helped with the 8th Annual Heartland Classic!! It seemed everyone was willing to pitch in wherever assistance was needed... a great crew like that is irreplaceable. We had great participation for all of the weekend's activities, as well as plenty of folks who came in support of the event. We hunted 99 dogs Friday, which is a record for us. I think UKC's involvement and the date change really turned the Heartland around.
Congratulations to the Overall Winners in all events, as posted above. A big CONGRATS to Gomer (Brad Messersmith) and Sue for winning the wheeler. The final four hunt-off finished by scoring Sue on a den tree as the sun was coming up and the birds were singing.
The raffled wheeler was won by Brian Meyers of IA, who bought his ticket from three-time Heartland winner, Brett Meyers. Thanks to everyone who stepped up and sold tickets!!! Special mention goes to ticket seller of the year, Dan Downing, who sold nearly 10% of the tickets himself.
We have been getting great feedback on what was done right and what could be improved upon. Keep it coming, as that is how we grow.
We started making plans for next year before we even left the fairgrounds Sunday morning. For you lucky guys that stayed late to help out....Congrats! You are now appointed to be on the Board for the Heartland Houndsmen Federation
Thanks again for another great Heartland Classic. We are looking forward to Number 9!!!
thats soo cool to hear very happy that they are now a ukc event

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the people that worked hard to make this a successful event.
There were date conflicts as there always are. The Wisconsin Conservation Congress's annual meeting is always the second Thursday, Friday, Saturday of May. It is manditory that those involed attend. And I'm sure that some had family plans for Mother's Day and could not hunt Saturday night because of it.
Great job to all involved.
I too would like to thank everyone involved in putting this event on. I especially appreciate the field trial and water race, and the overall for both events was great. Please, please continue to do that!!! (And maybe consider 2 days of FT and WR in the future.)
