Glad to hear they are doing good.

Just got in from hunting Peanut. Got about 3/4 of a mile deep with the coon. I got turned around some how and had a 3 mile walk back. For some reason I always think that compass is pointing in the wrong direction, but it wasn't.

How's those puppies doing? Bet they are looking like little butter balls.

Peanut is doing good, might have to rename her Scar Face though. She has been fighting coon left and right. Them big ole boars have been jumping out on top of the dogs with some squalling and a CB or two. Been fun to watch for sure. She's doing a great job, been under a lot of coon.

Yea I'm excited about this new prospect myself. Should be ready to go in about a month.

This will be the youngest hound I've had, ought to be fun. I'm going to start him as soon as he's big nuff to follow me through the woods. Got his name picked out too. Stroker Ace after a B&T my Grandpa had when I was a kid.

Looking forward to a trip to Iowa and hunting with Omer again. I won't let the cat out of the bag, but I think Omer has another cross coming up on one of his hounds, she's a coon dawg and I can prove it any night someone wants to see her go.

Thanks Matt, Jr Shotten got him qualified, He called me on the way to the hunt and was a little nervous as he had only hunted him once for a couple drops that week and it was suppose to be frosty and bright moonlight. He said he did a nice job though.

Those pups are starting to run around and are very noisy. Lucy is doing good.

Bet your busy pushing snow with all the snow you guys got down there!

I all most hauled Peanut up there to Kirksville to try our luck that night but had sick kids at the house.

I don't know how long it will be before I can hunt again, we have had around 2 feet of snow in the last week and some more in the forecast. There is only about a month till the Little World Hunt in Higginsville, and the MSCHA hunt in Elmer is next week. We need to be out hunting but for now all we can do is deal with the Cabin Fever.

Shawn we have had about 2 feet of snow in the last 5 days or so. We average less than that for a whole winter normally. I don't think we have more coming in soon, and I hope not.

Cannt hunt, cannt leave the house. I'm ready for spring.

Matt the good thing is it is the end of Febuary and snow doesn't stay around as long as if it was Dec or Jan.

Yes sir. The snow is finally melting. Tried to haul Peanut up to Excelsior Springs on Saturday night for a hunt but couldn't talk myself into walking through wet snow all night.

Looks like I will have a couple weeks to get tuned up for the Little World Hunt in Higginsville. Them dogs have got to be going stir crazy, I haven't hunted in three weeks. Went down to the creek on Sunday just to look around, didn't see any tracks in the snow except deer. Nothin had been to my feeder buckets either.

I put a 2nd place win on Peanut last night in Clinton, Mo. There were 3 open cast, I grew out with all Blueticks. It was a good hunt despite the rain. I got first strike and tree on the first drop and lead the cast the rest of the night. Was up around 300+, but finished with I think 150+ thanks to a last minute slick tree which I won't hold against her cause she didn't want to tree on it. She only did as we were walking into it.

We got lots of hunting to do with the Marshall hunt on Saturday, and the Little World Hunt the weekend after that.
