It was announced in Flora that NC State finished #3 in 2012 in the list of top state events. We were also about 20 dogs from being #2. In 2 weeks you guys have a chance to bump us up to #2 or even #1!!!! Be sure to come out and help us get there. Big things are coming!!! stay tuned.

here it is folks - the big announcement.

enter the hunt on Friday night, you will be given a ticket for a drawing for a Garmin 320 and a Diamond Deluxe dog box (2 separate drawings).

when you come back on Saturday and enter the hunt, turn in your ticket to be put in the bucket for the drawing to be drawn before cast call out Saturday night.

all of this is IN ADDITION to all of the other prizes and awards that NC State will be awarding.

Please come out and join us. THIS IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST EVENTS IN THE STATE!!!

Thanks for this post Robby, I had messaged Ryan and felt like he also was OK with things as they are. Yeah It's a not-so-funny situation and I hope it can be resolved as painlessly as possible going forward. I want all clubs to not only attend our event but to be successful at theirs. We must stand together because the real enemies are not club officers, state officers, or fellow coonhunters - it's the animal rights, anti-hunting agenda that is working to stop our hunting, dog breeding, and free casting. Your post is evidence that the majority of folks understand that.
I really do wish you guys the best at this event and going forward. I encourage your club to join the association and help us support the NC State Youth Hunt as well.

I can speak from both sides of the fence on this subject. I have had my differences with some of the members of NCCHA and do not agree with the way those particular members handle anything. HOWEVER, the organization as a whole is a very good thing to have and they do represent us in several very important places such as in Raleigh against the Antis! The N. Wilkesboro hunt is unfortunately on the same date this year and they cannot be changed! That said there is no reason that we can't support both events!!! I plan to attend the NC state event on Friday for hunt and show and the show on Saturday. There is ample time to get from Salisbury to N. Wilkesboro and support there show and hunt as well! Yes you have to choose which hunt you support on Saturday night, and that will greatly depend on how many do Friday night at the state hunt! There are enough hunters and show people in this state to get through this with great support for both!! JMO- Matt Cruse

please come support the NC State Assn. there is already an updated puppy mill bill on the table in the NC legislature that the NCCHA will be involved in this year as well as the NC Sporting Dog Assn. The state event will help raise funds for us to fight these types of bad legislations as well as support the youth.

there has been some concern about the benches that will be used at the state bench show this year. Fret no more! There will be new benches with new carpet. No slick carpet this year!!! No need to worry about sliding off!!

Please support the NC state event. this is our yearly fund raiser that supports the NC state youth and helps with the fight in Raleigh and on the local level.

Dont forget that if you are not a member of a paid up NC coon club you will have to join the NCCHA in order to be eligible for the overall show and hunt prizes. Costs to join is $5.

if you are a vendor and plan on coming and would like an indoor space (very limited) please let me know ASAP. it will be a first come first serve. they will apprx 10' wide.

all activities will be in the big building (vendor bldg during SETWD). raffle will be set up at end nearest to gate entrance. limited vendor spots available (please notify me ASAP if you need/want one).

Bench show held at far end with crating area available. tent will be set up for staging area for bench show, new benches with new carpet.
