Well back in my early twenties I fell in love with the idea to have a mule to ride while hunting. None of the guys in my area were into that, but I just had to have one. There is a town not too far away from me that has an annual 'Mule Day', so I went looking for a mule. I spotted a beautiful gaited sorrel for sale and confidently walked up to the man as he sat in the saddle, asking about the mule. He quickly cut to the chase and said, "I'm asking $8000 for her, if you're interested, I'll let you ride her." I'm sure my jaw nearly hit the ground as I managed to say, "Just stay up there where you are." I don't know who was more embarrassed, me or the young lady I had brought along. I did finally 'almost' buy one, though. An old man who lived near me had a little short legged mule for sale. He would plow, pull a wagon, was broke to ride, a little bit of everything. I, being an irresponsible young man, didn't have the full amount to buy the mule, but convinced the man that I could pay half now, and return with the rest on payday. He agreed, but when I came back to get the mule, he handed me my money and said, "I didn't know if I'd ever see you again and a man showed up with cash and I couldn't pass it up." I was pretty ticked at the time, but knowing how I was back then, I can't say as I blame him.

You said a bunch then. I bought a stocky marsh tackey back in the day. He could pull and plow and was a gentleman as well with my kids under his belly hooking him up to whatever I hooked him up to. Sometimes I hooked him up to my Nissan truck that I had stuck. I had a Ford 8N with a low range transmition to plow and I bought a bugggy with a schoobus seat welded on top. That was a fun good natured pony.... I work in the woods and I used him in the woods . I tried to charge 1/4 of his time off to my work. He could and would put his head down and push his way through a briar patch, and make me a path . If I ever had to come back to do the doodly about stealing some property on behalf of aGovernment regulation, becausev it :might " have had a salamander somebody slipped in tresspassing on the place that I did not see. So , I must wonder?????? was that decision based on fact or was that decision based on "potential habitat" . So here I am , riding a marsh Tackey pony when he pushed his way out through a thicket on the job and stuck his head out through a thicket and cast his eyes on a broard expanse of salt marsh . He stopped and after awhile he went to quivering. I could feel it through the stirrups . I recon I should have NOT charged out that five minutes the Marsh takey was getting his **** together. And I agree With the IRS on that . I should have just took a limb up side his head when he gazed on that marsh and put a newdeal attitide in his head.

I HAD A MULE.... Back in the 70s when i started fooling with hounds i made my livin buyin, sellin, training, shoeing and boarding horses. A huntin buddy and i made a trip to a trade days in Ky. and they had a mule show, when it was time for the jumping class and they brought out a plank and 2 step ladders i was unimpressed but sure enough if they led those critters up to the plank they would rear back and hop right over. I decided i needed a MULE.
A couple weeks later as luck would have it i was at a sale and spotted a little black mule, only about 13 hands but stocky built and sound, so after a little horse tradin that little 150 dollar black beauty was mine. The old fella that had him told me he had used him mostly dragging logs out so i figured id have him quiet to ride in no time.
Got my little mule home the next day and put him in the front pature with about 10 head of horses and he proceeded to beat the crap out of every horse i owned, he was the pitbull of the mule world forsure, i also learned in short order that their had never been a fence built that could hold him, anything he couldnt go over he would go through or under.

I had that mule about 6 months, not because we became buddys but because it was that long before anyone managed to get him caught. I turned my 150 dollar mule into 50 bucks and was never as glad to lose 100.00

I traded for some goats like that once, not even close to funny at the time, but looking back now, well, I'm sure you know from experience.

That's how I feel about the hope and change that got voted in almost 4 years ago. Take our loss and move on.

It happens that way sometimes.

It;s called a Loss by the IRS and you got six years to show a profit. Why would we wait to see a GOOD THING happen from this failure. In a year or two he will have to pay his tax< He will outrun his "get going" time by the IRS . Who de IRS gonna come get den? And sacrifice our land? On Public Auction on the Courthouse Steps? Him? or we ?

He has obviously placed us all in a state of Bankruptcy with all that borrowing and spending. But Since "We are all in this together", HA HA! Who will the IRS come and get? Those that have saved, worked hard, or inherited the family Farm? Or those that have not, got a pot to pp into ? nor an apartment window to chunk it out of?
