His Sire is out of Dryfork Blue Spud (Cheif's sire,) and a female that is line bred S.R. CHief and Dryfork Blue Spud.

His Dam is out of Chief's BLue Dancer, and a female that is out of Chief. He carries as much Dryfork Blue Spud, and Chief breeding as any dog alive. His ancestry consists of the best reproducers that bore the Smokey River name.

Just got back in from hunting. Wally split treed ( maby 30 yds.) from two other dogs treeing a possum, and he had a coon. Treed another one in a rock den. I wouldn't call him a coon dog yet, but he has all the right ingredients. I plan on breeding him to one of my females later on if he keeps coming on. He really has a good mouth, and is coon crazy. Runs the track with a bawl, and trees with a hard chop. Has the kind of mouth you can hear for miles. Have high hopes for him if nothing goes wrong.

Nippets pups are growing. I gave them their first round of shots today. I will keep in touch.

Oh yea, thanks for the kind remarks about Wally. Take care.

No problem Tom, them corn feilds dont get much at all for air movment, belive me its not unusual to have some very long and very hard runs and as hot as it is outside that feild, inside it feels twice as hot.
And that hunting the hair off them wasnt a snide remark, after running corn it WILL wear the hair off around their eyes.

Wally

He is out of Welsh Mt. Keystone Blue. Blue is the product of frozen semen from Dryfork Blue Spud. He is owned by Aaron Petersheim of New Holland, Pennsylvania.

Keystone Blue's dam is out of Welsh Mt. Handy Daniel. Daniel is out of Chief ( Dryfork Blue SpudX J-Bell), and Smokey River Be's Blue Jean. Jean was out of J Bell's Be, which was a littermate to Chief.

Wally's Dam is out of Smokey River Chief's Blue Dancer X with a female out of Chief. Wally's dam is from a half brother / sister cross out of Chief.

I have a female here that is double Chief bred that I plan on breeding to Wally as soon as she comes in. She is a great, great grandaughter of old Smokey River Blue Diamond Jim on her mother's side. She has a good nose, and is a hard tree dog. Her name is Maybrerry Thelma Lou. You can see her picture on my thread, " Mayberry."

Bull, I am just like you, not trying to start trouble. But please who are these people that say Rattler is not a good track dog?Is it some people or is it one person telling you this BS. Sounds to me like just one more case of jealousey in the Bluetick breed. My advise for you is you better get some of ole Rat before it is too late.I think Rattler deserves to be at the top of the list.Next time my female comes in heat I will make the drive. The best pup we ever had here was out of Rattler and Blue Joey. She was the only 7 month old pup we ever owned that was treeinng coons by her self.
It has been more than one person that told me of a lack of track power in Rat, but then i began to hear the opposite from many others that is why I am on here today picking ya'll brains. I dont have the means to pick up and go for a hunt or two with Rat ( I sure wish I could ) so this is the next best option for me. I thank you Rance for the information you've given me and Mr. Foley I thank you too. I just have the one female right now so I guess I have some thinking to do. I sure like what I hear about Rat and i am one of those weirdos that love the monkey face and lighter colored dogs. My first dog was a male out of S.R. Dancer and he was black and white with a little dark rusty red on his face. Thank you for your time Bull.

Bull,

When you go to Miss., I will try to get with you and you can hunt with Whitey. I think you will like what Rattler is throwing. I have a female that is Jet/Smokey River bred that I plan on breeding to Rattler when she comes in.

Ken

The gyp I got is out of Clear River Diamond Jim and Bullets BL Nikki. Nikki is out of Bullet and Becky. So there is a little Jet V on her too. I've made her a NITCH and CH and have 3 wins towards GRCH. I do believe that I will go to Bullet II with her mainly because I have raised a litter off him and have gotten some of the best young dogs that I have ever owned. Too I have hunted with close to a dozen of his offspring and they are very nice. The young male Lee has now named Rocket is something special to me and I tend to go by the old addage if it works dont fix it. I would like to get a pup ( female ) off Rat and breed back into Bullet II or Rocket though. I may sell some of my pups and use the money to buy one off him.

this original post was made bout exactly a year ago, i included the list at the vert bottom

lets see how i did up to this point
1.rattler- i believe rat had already been on the reproducers list b4 i posted this, but i am going to take some credit for this insight cause i bred to him before he had his 100 pups on the ground, by no means do i think he was unknown at that point, but he didnt have the popularity at that point that he deserved.

2.Bullet2-numbers wise i think the best is yet to come for bullet2 and they are starting to show up already in the hunts. he'll make a big jump percentage wise once the pups get more age on them adn the good ones start ending up in competition hunters hands. no real credit to take here, bullet 2 reproducing is a given.

3.rock-had already been at the top of the reproducers list for some time, no credit to take here.

4. tramp-again proven reproducer already

5. hammer 18-already proven, but i think folks missed out on this dog lately, aint nothing else close to him out there now to replace him

6. hornet-again already had proved himself

7. bobo- deserves a pat on the back- reprodcued the #3 purina dog this year.

8. dancer-a big pat on the back, now has several titled dogs out of him, earned over 8 perofromance points last year, and reproduced the grand american and winter classic high scoring bluetick.

9. lead-again had already proven himself.

10. spike-a real big pat on my back- jumped onto the repdrocuders list here recently at #4. top bluetick perfromance sire at a whopping 24.375 points.

im going to go out on a bigger limb, cause i think this one will be harder to prove cause this list is going to be 10 dogs that i think will reproduce coondogs but most likely wil never be bred enough to really know their potential. no particular order
1.anti up joker
2. bawls
3. bishops grover
4. tuff stuff
5. neals big mike
6. jet 6s blue rocket
7. southern thunder
8. double eagle blue hoss
9. runnin gun
10. appels bullet/blue blaze-littermates

clyde,

this is just what i "think" so take it for what its worth. if i lived in thick coon, i wouldnt try to be no where as picky as i am now. i really dont know much about hillbilly and his offspring, what keeps me from having him on my list is a couple of things, he has a good bit of age on him, and i only know of 1 or 2 dogs off him, and atleast the one has had some very good owners/handlers behind him and im sure there has been other of his offspring given this great opportnity also. again take that for what its worth.

as far as jet 8 goes, who knows its early in his reproducing career, though i do think we would know by now if he is going to be as special in the breeding pen as he is in the hunts. having no top siblings makes me pause alittle, but honestly its too early to tell.

im going to try to give my honest opinion on dogs i know and dogs i only know of, but ill always make sure to preface how my opinion is based. you listen to 99% of the stuff on here and every young dog is making it and every stud dog is a top reproducer.
