I just want to say thanks, thats a great post on Luke, and the bloodline he came from. We started working on this about 4 years ago an it seems a well thought out plan feel into place.

THANK YOU, Randy has earned every kind word but that whole litter luke was out of was strong,Jerry,Randy,Cecil Thurston,Ralph,Norman Hall,Everrett Perry,all were apart of them dogs 25 years ago,i was lucky enough to run across them and it has lasted along time I feel very blessed to call them friends Randy and Jerry i talk to weekly pat yourself on the back you have done a good job with them hounds ,Randy has a bunch of gooderns on the ground, thanks Tom, p.s Randy and myself are coming cat hunting soon if you will have us we are both short legged you got something we can ride,Ink was the dog,Mork,Horse,Nick, Dolly,Kate, the list is long but Randy has paid his dues

this is part of my bucket list but not ready to give up yet,if randy goes up their i will follow would go to the end of the earth if a dog is treed ,you got a short hunt ,old fat out of shape no air up their we have mtn's but the older i get flatwoods ,swamps, you need to call Jerry and get the whole story ,it will be an experence Jerry is my travel buddie ,but a competive little fellow, he can make a dog laugh, sorry Jerry you take your med's

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. The Luke/Ink dogs are obviously a bloodline that is rich with good houndsmen, hunters, breeders, and most of all good hounds behind it. I always enjoy studying the history of the hounds we hunt and using that information as a valuable tool as we keep our focus on improving our hounds in the future.

It's nice to be part of a group of guys who enjoy working together to keep a line of hounds going in the right direction, and are happy for each others success along the way.

I heard Randy does that so his dog knows which tree to tree on. That way he can make sure they tree close to the road. I knew them Luke dogs were smart, but no one told me they could read. I'm going to town to get some spray paint and stencils to see if I can get mine to do it.

Mine must have too much Lightfoot in them, cause apparently they can't read. I turned them loose just down the road from the tree I picked out and they ran right by it, fired up a moose and I ain't seen them since. I guess I've got some more training to do. LOL

You might be right. I got a report that someone saw them chasing a Cadillac down the highway. I guess I better go back to what they understand, "electricity". I never was a very good dog whisperer, but I am a pretty good electrician. LOL

I give up on teaching mine to read. I got my hands full trying to outsmart these dang wolves. Haven't caught one yet, but we're getting closer. It's a lot harder than it sounds. LOL.

Well if this weather keeps up spring will be here soon. I'm already starting to think about spring bear season. I sold a couple of old guns and bought me a new bear slayer the other day.

I thought I would make a post about one of the more influential litters we have raised, hunted, and used in our breeding program. The litter I’m referring to is the litter of Idaho Lightfoot Black Jack, Idaho Lightfoot Stifler, and Idaho Lightfoot Rev. These hounds are responsible for putting a lot of game in the tree for us, as well as producing a bunch of nice offspring that are being hunted all across the country and Canada. While none of these three hounds were or are perfect, they are all well balanced hounds that you could count on to give a 100% effort every time out, which more often than not resulted in them getting the job done in a variety of terrain and conditions. Most of the hounds that have came from us in the last several years have one of these three hounds in it’s pedigree. Here’s some pictures of them for those who are interested in seeing the hounds that their hounds go back to.
